Leeds v Derby tips: Goals galore under the lights?

Marcelo Bielsa Leeds

The football’s starting with a bang this weekend as Leeds United host Derby County in a very tasty tie.

Leeds will be looking to extend their lead at the top of the Championship. But Derby are currently sixth and have their sights set higher.

Both teams are capable of sparkling attacking play. And that means we could be in for a Friday night treat. We’ve got all the key odds for you in the run-up to kick-off….

Match Odds

After a recent blip, Leeds will take confidence from the last meeting between the sides. They ran out 4-1 winners at Pride Park back in August. The Whites are just 20/23 to win this one too.

Derby haven’t been at their best either. It’s just one win in six for Frank Lampard’s side. But a win would take them seven points clear of Nottingham Forest in seventh. They’re 3/1 to take the points.

There’s 13/5 about the draw – which would be Leeds’ first since October.

Talking Tactics

Clean sheets have been in short supply for these two lately. And as they both want to play on the front foot, it should be a very open game.

Derby could bring Tom Huddlestone back into the side to try and control proceedings. But the veteran’s lack of mobility may invite the Leeds press.

If they do win the ball high up the pitch, Marcelo Bielsa’s side will look to play Kemar Roofe through. The forward has been in red-hot form.

Goalscorer Odds

With four goals in his last three appearances at Elland Road, Roofe is 7/2 favourite to bang the opener.

Pablo Hernandez and Mateusz Klich offer a goal threat from midfield too. They’re 9/4 and 16/5 respectively to net anytime.

Jack Marriott and and David Nugent share 21/10 favouritism to score from a Derby perspective.
