Thursday Transfer Rumour Round-Up: Dortmund eye Palace’s crown jewel

Published:

The Sky Sports News ticker is about to go into overdrive with just seven days left to go before the January transfer window slams shut.

Jim White won’t be able to report on Gonzalo Higuain, who completed his own long-running saga with a move to Chelsea yesterday.

So we’ve got four more names who could move between now and next Thursday.

Dortmund making eyes at Zaha

Crystal Palace are no strangers to fending off approaches for Wilfried Zaha. Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea have both been linked with the winger in the past.

Now it’s Borussia Dortmund stirring the pot. The Bundesliga club have reportedly identified the 25-year-old as a potential replacement for West London-bound Christian Pulisic.

Jadon Sancho has already shown the way following his switch from Manchester City. But Dortmund will have to pay a sight more for Zaha, who is under contract at Selhurst Park until 2023.

Magpies set to snare Lukaku?

You’ve read that right. Newcastle United are going after Lukaku. Except it isn’t Manchester United ace Romelu, but Lazio star Jordan who’s on Rafael Benitez’s radar.

The 24-year-old left-back is out of favour in Rome and is close to joining the Magpies on-loan, with a view to a permanent deal at the end of the season.

His arrival will allow Matt Ritchie to move further up the pitch. The winger has been covering the left-back position for a number of weeks since an injury to first-choice Paul Dummett.

Moses supposes he’s off

Moses may have been able to part the Red Sea but he hasn’t quite been able to find his way into Maurizio Sarri’s plans this season. The winger has made just six appearances for Chelsea this term.

So it looks like the 28-year-old is set to move onto pastures new, with Fenerbahce the probable destination. Moses has already passed a medical and a loan deal could be wrapped up this week.

Ex-Premier League stars Roberto Soldado, Andre Ayew, Islam Slimani and Martin Skrtel will be among his new teammates.

Hammers mad for Maxi?

Marko Arnautovic’s proposed move to the Chinese Super League means that West Ham United are being linked with strikers all over the shop. Celta Vigo ace Maxi Gomez is the latest name on the list.

The 22-year-old has hit nine goals in La Liga this season and has a release clause worth £43.5m.

At 6ft 1in, he could be a readymade replacement for Arnautovic, who is 6/4 to move to China this month.
