Tuesday’s Transfer Rumour round-up: Is North London the next stop for James Rodriguez?

Latest January transfer window odds

The clock is ticking in this year’s January transfer window but this winter’s tale could soon be hotting up.

Tyrone Mings is the subject of a Championship tussle for his signature. So we take a look at the biggest transfer rumours from around Europe in the last 24 hours.

The name is Bond…Is James Rodriguez Arsenal bound?

It’s well reported that Arsenal cannot make any permanent signings this window. However they’re exploring a number of loan deals including Colombian hotshot James Rodriguez.

The all-action playmaker seems to be a lone-ranger at Real Madrid and the Gunners are looking at a move for the midfielder.

He’s currently a season-and-a-half into a two-year loan at Bayern Munich but appears out of favour at the German champions.

Would Rodriguez be the man to shoot Arsenal into the top four?

Monaco making more moves

Over in Ligue 1, Thierry Henry is desperately trying to assemble a squad to drag his team out of the relegation scrap.

The Monaco gaffer has already put his Arsenal connections to good use and signed Cesc Fabregas and he’s eyeing another attacking solution next.

Gelson Martins only joined Atletico Madrid in the summer, but a loan moves beckons for the Portuguese star.

Henry’s status is a huge pull for any player and the exciting winger could make Monaco his home for a while.

West Ham go after Zapata

It seems like everyone needs a new striker this window and the Hammers are no different.

With Marko Arnautovic seemingly on the way out of the London Stadium, Manuel Pellegrini will be desperate to replace him asap!

The man identified is Atalanta’s Duvan Zapata. The 27-year-old is banging in the goals this season and is already subject of a £35 million offer from the Prem club.

West Ham’s need for a striker could see the bids rain in before the deadline.

Is Burnley Vincent Janssen’s get out of jail free card

When Spurs signed Janssen in 2016, he had just been named the Dutch ‘Talent of the year’.

A move to the Premier League looked to be his big break as Tottenham cherry-picked one of Europe’s brightest talents.

Fast forward three years and after a string of unsuccessful loan spells, he is back in North London, arguably fighting for his career.

Burnley have been in good form in the last month and are looking for a forward to steer them away from the relegation battle.

If the striker can morph into Eredivisie-Janssen 2.0 then Burnley could have a player on their hands.
