Weekend Round-up: Dave saves Man United while Chiefs shine in NFL

Phew! It’s been a stunning weekend of sporting action, so we’re catching our breath and looking back on the key moments.
Our round-up kicks off with a goalkeeping masterclass at Wembley, but we’ll delve into the End Zone with the NFL playoffs and step up to the Oche with the BDO too!
Dave saves as Ole’s men pass Spurs test
Despite five wins on the spin as Manchester United boss, doubters pointed to the fact Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was yet to see off a Premier League heavyweight.
But the Baby-Faced Assassin now has a tick in that column, following a 1-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur. And he’s the latest United boss to have David De Gea to thank for a big-game win.
United impressed in the first half, with Paul Pogba’s master-pass setting up Marcus Rashford for the only goal. But once again, United’s keeper was the star.
De Gea made an astonishing 11 saves, including a stunning stop from Harry Kane with his outstretched foot. The result puts the Red Devils level on points with Arsenal, and they’re 9/4 to crack the top four this season.
Kansas end playoff hoodoo against Colts
Despite many impressive regular season runs, Kansas City Chiefs are chiefly known as a side who bottle it in the playoffs. Ahead of this season, they’d lost 12 of their previous 13 postseason games.
But the Chiefs cast history aside to bolt past the Indianapolis Colts at Arrowhead Stadium, with a 31-13 win that never looked in doubt.
Their rushing game won the day, with all four Touchdowns run in – including one from on-fire Quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Next up is the visit of New England Patriots. The Pats may have the pedigree, but they’ve been rocky on the road this season. Kansas are the favourites to reach the Super Bowl at 8/13.
Away day gloom as Gunners fire a blank
Arsenal’s away-day woes last season helped spell the end for Arsene Wenger. But it’s deja-vu for the Gunners travelling fans under Unai Emery, after a hammer-blow at London Stadium.
The visitors controlled possession against West Ham United, but rarely looked like making it count. Even Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang couldn’t muster up much. Prolific at the Emirates, the travel-sick striker has just one goal in five away games.
Declan Rice’s second-half scorcher was the game’s only goal, and condemned Arsenal to a fifth straight away Prem match without victory.
Duzza makes it a BDO three-in-a-row
Once again, nobody could stop the Teesside titan that is Glen Durrant in the BDO World Darts Championship. Duzza made it three successive titles, with a 7-3 victory over Scott Waites.
Averaging over 95 in four successive games, the 4-3 victory over Scott Baker in the second round was the only game where his title hopes ever really looked in doubt.
And the man from Middlesbrough now has his eyes on a PDC prize, having announced his intention to enter this month’s Q-School.
