After two months of intense competition, the 2018-19 Big Bash League boils down to colossal derby between Melbourne Renegades and Melbourne Stars at Marvel Stadium.

Both sides are looking for their maiden Finals victory in the Big Bash. But who will prevail live on BT Sport 2 from 3:30am on Sunday morning?

We’ve previewed the titanic match-up.

Match Odds

Our traders can’t split the pair, with both sides available at 10/11. That’s no good if you’re trying to find a winner, so what can we take from the season as a whole and their head-to-head record?

Well, the Renegades finished two points ahead of their city rivals in the regular season, winning just a single game more than the Stars across the 14-match campaign.

Sunday’s ‘hosts’ also posted a higher total than the Stars in their three-wicket win over the Sydney Sixers, although the Stars did chase down the Hobart Hurricanes’ 153 with 1.5 overs to spare.

The Stars will have the psychological edge too. Stephen Fleming’s men have won 11 of the 15 meetings between the two sides, including six and seven-wicket successes this term.

Batting Odds

Both sides have capable batsmen but sixes aren’t necessarily their forte. The two teams have hit just 129 combined in 30 matches, with Marcus Stonis the top run scorer on 494.

The 29-year-old has top scored for the Stars four times. When he gets going, he usually produces knocks in the 70-80 range. He’s 3/1 to top score for the Stars here, and 5/6 to snare Over 24.5 Runs.

Glenn Maxwell is in better form after hitting a match-winning 43 last time out. He’s 7/2 to be Top Run Scorer or 8/1 to win Man-of-the-Match.

The Renegades have lacked consistency throughout their batting line-up, although it’s opener Aaron Finch who holds their best chance of dictating the game.

The right-hander is dangerous on form and is 2/1 to be their Top Run Scorer, ahead of Marcus Harris at 7/2. Cameron Boyce is in decent nick, too, and is an outside bet at 12/1.
