Ole staying at the wheel? Solskjaer 1/8 for permanent Man United job

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been at the wheel at Old Trafford since mid-December and the latest odds suggest he’ll remain in the driving seat for some time longer.

Despite suffering back-to-back defeats to Arsenal and Wolves, the interim boss is now just 1/8 to take the reins at Manchester United on a permanent basis.

That puts him a mile ahead of Mauricio Pochettino at 5/1, with Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri even further back at 14/1.

If Solskjaer can get the Red Devils into the top-four (5/4) and win them a first Champions League since 2008 (16/1), then you can expect his odds to shorten again.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “The real test for Solskjaer starts now and while his United side may be stuttering, punters and fans are still seemingly all for the Norwegian gaffer getting the permanent gig.”
