Rafa-lution: Benitez to take control at Celtic Park?

Rafa Benitez

Our traders have slashed the odds in the last 24 hours on Rafael Benitez taking over at Celtic this summer.

The Toon faithful have fallen in love with Rafa since his arrival in 2016 and this would come as a shock to fans and players alike.

His future has been up in the air for a while with the former Liverpool boss yet to sign a contract extension at St. James’ Park.

Our football traders are reporting that all bets placed in the last day on Celtic’s manager on the opening day of next season have been in favour of the Magpies boss.

That means he’s seen his odds slashed from 20/1 yesterday morning, into 10/1 by late afternoon – currently sitting at 5/1.

Benitez still has unfinished business at Newcastle – especially after the club broke a 15-year-old transfer record by signing Miguel Almiron in January.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “We’re scratching our heads as to where this sudden interest has come from, but punters seem to think Rafa might make the shock move north of the border this summer.”

Will Rafa become one of the Bhoys?
