Man United v Man City Betting Tips: Who will steal the bragging rights?

Published:
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Man United

The Manchester derbyis usually a fierce and frantic affair. The kings of the road versus the ‘noisyneighbours’. But there’s even more than usual riding on tonight.

We may get a city united with neither side wanting Liverpool to win the title. But United won’t want to see City lift the trophy again either.

If United win, then it could hand Liverpool the Premier Leaguetrophy. But lose and their top-four hopes look doomed, while City will be oncourse to triumph.

It’s a catch 22 that gears this one up to be one helluvaride and we’ve got a full rundown ahead of derby day.

Match Odds

The Red Devils got swept aside by Everton last weekend andregardless of the repercussions they will want a quick-start against their cross-cityrivals.

You can find a United win at 11/2, which would throw the top-four race up in the air. But Man City know they can’t afford to slip up if they are to win back-to-back league titles.

Guardiola’s boys are a skinny 1/2 to bag three points and keep rolling on. City could be ruthless tonight, so we go with the away side to win to nil at 19/20.

A draw that would possibly be the worst result for bothsides is at 10/3.

Talking Tactics

Man United will be pleased to welcome Luke Shaw back into thefold following suspension. Solskjaer could go with a back four including VictorLindelof and Chris Smalling.

Diogo Dalot’s versatility could see him rock up on either the right or left wing. Paul Pogba should be up for this one. Alexis Sanchez could even get a rare outing this evening.

As for City, they will miss the creativity of Kevin DeBruyne, but Bernardo Silva and Raheem Sterling have been a revelation thisseason.

Leroy Sane will hope to get more than a bit part role, whileFernandinho’s presence in the middle could be the difference.

Goalscorer odds

Sterling has been a great shout for first goalscorer in recent weeks; the England man is 7/2 to break the deadlock.

Bernardo Silva is 8/1 to strike first, and is 14/5 anytime. Aguero will be the danger man though and he’s 5/1 to bag 2 or more goals.

The red half of the city has Romelu Lukaku at 15/2 to be the first man to strike. Marcus Rashford could play as the number nine and is at 3s to notch anytime.

Jesse Lingard is often the man for the big occasion and is 6/1 anytime.
