ITV Racing Tips: Can Advertise set the standard in the 2000 Guineas?

Who will follow in the hoof-steps of Camelot,Frankel and Sea The Stars? That’s the question on everybody’s lips as therunners and riders prepare for the 2019 edition of the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket.
Too Darn Hot and Calyx won’t be joining the honours list. The fancied pair have both been pulled from this engagement. So it’s down to the likes of Ten Sovereigns, Magna Grecia and Advertise to fight it out over a mile.
We’ve given our call on the 2000 Guineas, alongside all of the other live races from Newmarket and Goodwood, in our ITV Racing Tips.
Owner Hamdan Al Maktoum let us downlast week. We don’t think the same will happen today. Enbihaar looks a more than viable alternative to market leaderKlassique and is our tip for the Warwick Fillies’ Stakes.
The four-year-old was highlyprogressive for John Gosden last term, while her fourth in a Listed event atAscot in October has been franked since thanks to a taking reappearance fromAustrian School in the Queen’s Cup.
Our tip should benefit from the drop back in trip to 1m 4f, while Klassique’s runner-up berth in a Group 3 contest over the Channel is nothing to be feared.
This is a right humdinger. SergeiProkofiev, El Astronaute and Mabs Crossall have claims for the Palace House Stakes, but it’s the latter who gets thenod from us to get the job done over 5f.
Michael Dods’ mare hit the post severaltimes last term, including when a shade behind Battaash at Haydock and runner-upin the Nunthorpe. But she did wrap up a Group 1 success on her final start inFrance.
The five-year-old was ridden to perfection by Gerald Mosse to take the prestigious Prix de l’Abbaye at Longchamp ahead of a number of class horses. A similar ride here will see her past the post first, even with a penalty.
Here we are then; the first Classic ofthe season. Aidan O’Brien has an attractive hand, but it’s Advertise who’s taken to build on a hugely impressive two-year-oldseason to claim the 2000 Guineas.
The Showcasing colt already has a Group1 win to his name when ahead of subsequent Breeders’ Cup frame finisher SoPerfect at the Curragh. His runner-up berth to Too Darn Hot at Newmarket lookssmart too.
Our tip kept on well both times which suggests he should be able to handle the step up to 1m. He’ll benefit from the experience of three-time Guineas winner and Ladbrokes ambassador Frankie Dettori, who takes the ride.
