Biggest bet on Yes £10 – Thousands staked on No
Published:No more than £10 has been placed on a ‘Yes’ result in the AV referendum in the last 48 hours according to Ladbrokes.
Whilst punters are happy to pile thousands on ‘No’ at odds as short as 1/33, confidence in ‘Yes’ appears to be at an all time low with the bravest bet being £10 at 10/1.
Yes is now also odds-on (1/2) to secure less than 40% of the vote.
The odds of Nick Clegg saying “It’s my fault” within 24 hours of the result have also been shortened from 16/1 to 12/1 as punters continue to predict misery for those in the ‘Yes’ camp.
It’s also just 2/1 any Lib-Dem walks away in the aftermath of the result.
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “It’s looking bleak for ‘Yes’. The writing is on the wall as punters now view ‘No’ as a certainty and are prepared to risk thousands for a small return.”
he added: “We hope the coalition stays intact for 24 hours at least as any defection would hit us hard.”
