Bookies reveal betting on UK vs Ireland ahead of Cheltenham Festival
Published:
- Ladbrokes has opened betting on the number of Irish and UK trained winners ahead of the Cheltenham Festival, with the odds suggesting there won’t be much of a battle.
- The bookies favour the Irish raiders to have 19 or 20 winners at Prestbury Park, while it is 5/1 that they mirror last year’s result with 18 winners.
- It is 14/1 that they equal their record of 23 wins from 2021, while its 25/1 that they smash that record with 24 victories.
- For the home team, eight or nine winners is expected at 4/1 with Ladbrokes, while it is 5/1 that they match the last two years by recording ten wins.
Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said: “The Prestbury Cup used to be a much closer battle but recent history suggests an Irish invasion is coming. We don’t think the record of 23 winners will be broken, but the odds suggest there will be a large gap between the nations when it comes to the winners enclosure.”
