Brighton next manager odds

Graham Potter is no longer the favourite to return to Brighton and become the club's next manager in the odds that have been released by Ladbrokes.

Potter left Chelsea in the first few months of 2023, and in the meantime has reportedly rejected offers from the likes of Lyon and Ajax. However, the Englishman could be set to return to the game soon, potentially with one of his former clubs.

The ex-Chelsea manager was the immediate front-runner for the Brighton job, a post he previously held 2019-22 before being brought to the Blues by Todd Boehly. However, he's now been fallen to third-favourite, behind Fabian Hürzeler of St Pauli and Malmo's Henrik Rydstrom.

Potter is still respected by the Brighton faithful, having established the Seagulls as a hard-to-beat Premier League club, and he could be set to return to the post if the bookies are to be believed, although he's no longer the favourite.

Elsewhere, Russell Martin is in the running according to Ladbrokes, with the Southampton boss at 5/1, whilst Jacob Neestrup of Copenhagen makes up the rest of the top five at 7/1.

Below is a breakdown 15 favourites for the Brighton job, which features England legends Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard, the former of whom is managing in Saudi Arabia at the moment.

  1. Fabian Hürzele (St Pauli) - 4/5
  2. Henrik Rydström (Malmo) - 2/1
  3. Graham Potter (Free Agent) - 7/2

Brighton are currently 150/1 to win the 2024/25 Premier League, slightly shorter than rivals Crystal Palace at 200/1.

The Seagulls aren't the only club in the market for a new manager, with Steve Cooper the favourite with the bookies to take over from Enzo Maresca who has officially now taken the Chelsea job.

Speaking of former Chelsea bosses set for new Premier League, jobs Potter may be joined by Mauricio Pochettino in being appointed as manager of an English top-flight club ahead of next season, with the ex-Tottenham manager the front-runner to replace Erik ten Hag at Man United.
