West Ham v Brighton betting tips and odds

West Ham will be determined to consolidate their top-four place after a couple of defeats as we search for some West Ham v Brighton betting tips.

The Hammers have suffered successive away losses to Wolves and Manchester City but remain fourth on goal difference from Arsenal.

Brighton are now ninth after stretching their winless run to eight games having made a promising start to the season.

Match Odds

West Ham are 19/20 to return to winning ways while a draw – which has occurred in the previous five meetings – is 12/5.

All five of those matches saw both teams score which is available at 3/4 with a score draw priced at 17/5.

There were more goals scored after the break in each of those encounters as well and that trend is 19/20 to continue.

Brighton are unbeaten in eight encounters with the Hammers, last losing in 2012 when suffering a 6-0 defeat in this corresponding fixture, and are 3/1 to snap their winless streak.

The Seagulls have still only lost three times all season with only Crystal Palace (7) drawing more times than their six.

They have failed to score in four matches during that run and only once – at Liverpool – have they netted more than one goal.

It is 13/8 they are blanked again while the Hammers are 1/1 to score two or more goals which they have managed in half of their home fixtures in the top flight this term.

Talking Tactics

Hammers boss David Moyes prefers a 4-2-3-1 formation with Michail Antonio the focal point in attack.

Jarrod Bowen and Manuel Lanzini, both second-half substitutes at the Etihad Stadium, could come into Moyes’ thinking to start with Said Benrahma possibly one to make way.

Brighton have changed their system a few times this season, ranging from a 4-2-3-1 to a 3-5-2.

It was the former against Leeds, when goalkeeper Robert Sanchez was back from suspension while striker Neal Maupay returned after two games as a substitute, only to miss a sitter.

Tariq Lamptey played in a more advanced role against Leeds and was a constant threat while Solly March shone in a late cameo and could get the nod here.

Goalscorer Odds

Antonio has now gone five games in all competitions without a goal for West Ham but is 7/2 to open the scoring and 6/4 to return to the scoresheet in West Ham v Brighton betting tips.

Bowen could start having been dropped to the bench against Manchester City and is 13/2 and 13/5 respectively while Lanzini is 10/3 to follow up his consolation goal at the Etihad Stadium.

Brighton have failed to score in four of their last seven matches but Leandro Trossard has netted their last two goals and he is 7/1 to break the deadlock and 14/5 to strike once more.

Both teams are a threat at set-pieces so the likes of Tomas Soucek (7/2), Craig Dawson (7/1), Shane Duffy (9/1) and Lewis Dunk (10/1) are worth considering in the anytime market.
