Celtic v Rangers tips: Expect goals at both ends in Parkhead clash

Champions Celtic face Steven Gerrard’s revitalised Rangers for the first time this season on Sunday.

The Hoops have dominated the fixture in the past few years, but Rangers arrive at Parkhead in fine fettle after a 12-game unbeaten run to kick off the campaign.

Match Odds

Having won the last two clashes by monster margins, Celtic are still firm favourites here at 6/10. Meanwhile, it’s 29/10 for the Draw and 9/2 for a Gers victory.

Both sides are in good goalscoring form. Each have netted eight goals across the last four games – and both have plenty of attacking threats. It’s 4/5 for Both Teams to Score, with a chunkier 19/10 for Over 3.5 Goals.

The pair could be tough to split on Sunday. A 1-1 draw is available at 13/2, with 2-2 priced up at 14/1.

Talking Tactics

With Odsonne Edouard’s fitness still in the balance, Leigh Griffiths is likely to lead the line for Celtic in a 4-2-3-1 system.

Callum McGregor and the experienced James Forrest seem the obvious pairing on the flanks – the main area where Rangers can be got at.

The visitors have switched between three and four at the back this season. But it’s the latter that has worked better – with Connor Goldson and Nikola Katic at centre-half. That’s likely to be the system on Sunday.

Goalscorer Odds

The hosts have the current market favourite. Leigh Griffiths is 23/20 Anytime, having netted against the Ibrox club in each of the last two seasons.

Rangers’ prodigal son Kyle Lafferty has already scored against Celtic this season – albeit in a Heart of Midlothian shirt. The 30-year-old is 21/10 Anytime, while it’s 13/2 he breaks the deadlock.
