Champions League 24/25: Real Madrid squad, starting 11 and odds

Now the 2024/25 season has started, Ladbrokes takes you through Real Madrid's Champions League squad, their chances of winning the competition and what their starting 11 has been.

Real are the reigning UCL champions, having beaten Borussia Dortmund in the final at Wembley Stadium earlier on this year, and they'll be hoping to regain their title once again.

While Madrid have lost Toni Kroos, with the German international retiring after Euro 2024, they've gained a new weapon in the form of Kylian Mbappe, who has signed on a free transfer from PSG.

With all that said, Ladbrokes takes you through Real Madrid's squad for the current Champions League campaign, what their starting XI has looked like, and their odds winning the competition.

Below is the squad Real Madrid have taken into this season's Champions League, with the arrivals of Mbappe and Brazilain sensation Endrick giving Los Blancos' attack a whole new look.

Real Madrid's team hasn't changed too much from last season, except for the inclusion of Mbappe, who is widely regarded as one of the best players in the world right now.

Thibaut Courtois plays in goal, with Dani Carvajal starting the season at right-back before his knee injury ruled him out for the campaign. In his place, both Fede Valverde and Lucas Vazquez have played there. On the left, Ferland Mendy continues as Los Blancos' full-back for the campaign.

Injuries have massively impacted what Real can do at centre-back, with Eder Militao and David Alaba both out with serious issues. Antonio Rudiger and Aurelien Tchouameni are expected to play there instead.

The midfield duo should see Valverde and Camavinga play, with Jude Bellingham more advanced as a ten ahead of them.

On the right, it's between Rodrygo, Brahim Diaz and Arda Guler, with the left spot almost always filled by Vinicius Jr when he's fit.

The striker spot speaks for itself, as despite probably wanting to play off the left, Mbappe was signed and will continue to play as Los Blancos' starting number nine.

Real Madrid are right in the running to win the Champions League next season, with shoter odds then Bayern Munich, but they aren't the favourites to lift the trophy in May 2025.

Madrid and Barcelona are priced with longer odds than Liverpool who are also considered to be the front-runners.

Real Madrid kicked off their 2024/25 Champions League campaign with a home game against Stuttgart on September 17, which ended 3-1, before they lost 1-0 to Lille the following month in France on October 2.

Next up, it was a tie against the team they met in the final in 2024 in Borussia Dortmund, with the game taking place on Spain on October 22 and ending in a 4-2 win for the reigning Champions. It was then a match against another of Europe's most decorated clubs, AC Milan, on November 5, with Los Blancos surprisingly losing 3-1.

The toughest game of Real Madrid's UCL 'league phase' saw them travel to Anfield to take Liverpool on November 27, with that ending in a 2-0 loss. There was no rest for the wicked for Real as they had another away game on December 10, this time narrowly beating Atalanta 3-2 in Italy.

It was back in Spain for Real Madrid in the Champions League as we entered 2025, with a 5-1 win against Red Bull Salzburg on January 22. Los Blancos complete their 'league phase' with a 3-0 win against Brest in France on January 29.

Real Madrid saw off Man City in the competition's play off round before needing penalties to beat Atletico Madrid in the round of 16. They now play Arsenal in the competition's quarter-finals.
