Leicester v Chelsea betting tips and odds

Saturday’s Premier League programme gets off to a great start with the lunchtime kick-off between Leicester and leaders Chelsea.

Thomas Tuchel’s side went into the international break with a three-point lead but a 1-1 draw with Burnley means they are 11/4 in the Premier League title odds.

The visitors are 3/4 favourites to win at the King Power Stadium but let’s examine some of the other odds in our Leicester v Chelsea betting tips.

Match Odds

The Blues’ four-match winning run was ended by the Clarets two weeks ago when the hosts took 25 shots, although only four were on target.

Although Chelsea are odds-on favourites to win Saturday’s game, they have won just one of the last seven Premier League meetings with Leicester who won the FA Cup for the first time by defeating the west Londoners last season.

The Foxes are 15/4 to win or 13/5 to draw against Chelsea for the fifth time in eight games while they are 21/20 in the double chance market.

Twelve of the last 13 matches between these sides have produced three or fewer goals, so we go 29/20 on the visitors winning that way, with the Foxes 19/4 on a win and under 3.5 goals.

City’s recent record against the European champions cannot be ignored, though, and we make under 1.5 goals in the first half, two or fewer in the second and either team to win at 11/8 in our Leicester v Chelsea betting tips.

Leicester have lost just one of their last six games but were beaten by Manchester City and Arsenal at home without scoring, so Chelsea can be backed at 19/10 to win to nil bearing in mind they have kept clean sheets in seven of their 11 games.

Talking Tactics

Blues striker Lukaku is back in training having missed the last three games with an ankle injury sustained against Malmo in the Champions League.

Kai Havertz has been leading the line supported by Callum Hudson-Odoi in the absence of Lukaku and Timo Werner but the Belgian remains out, although the German has a chance of making the bench. Marcos Alonso is also back in training.

Youri Tielemans will miss the game with a calf issuee he picked up before the international break which means the Belgian midfielder will miss his first Premier League game since December 2019.

James Justin and Wesley Fofana are also injured but Marc Albrighton is fit again.

Manager Brendan Rodgers went with a 4-3-3 at Elland Road where Jamie Vardy was supported by Harvey Barnes and Ademola Lookman, with Wilfred Ndidi in central midfield and Boubakary Soumare and Tielemans either side.

Goalscorer Odds

Havertz bagged the opener against Burnley and Armenia while playing for Germany in a World Cup qualifier, so we make him 6/1 to repeat the trick or 12/5 to score in our in our Leicester v Chelsea betting tips.

Chelsea defenders have been amongst the goals this season, so Reece James, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva and Antonio Rudiger can be backed at 4/1, 4/1, 9/1 and 11/1 respectively to get on the scoresheet.

Vardy is 5/1 and 2/1 in the two markets for Leicester, Kelechi Iheanacho is 15/2 and 14/5 while Barnes is 10/1 and 4/1 having scored the equaliser at Leeds last time out. Lookman is 12/1 and 9/2.
