Galopin Des Champs is now the 1/2 favourite with Ladbrokes to win a third successive Gold Cup according to the latest Cheltenham Festival 2025 odds after Gerri Colombe was ruled out.

Gordon Elliott Racing announced last month that Gerri Colombe, runner-up in last year’s Gold Cup and the 10/1 fourth-favourite for this year’s renewal, won’t run again this season.

That saw the three-time Irish Gold Cup champion’s odds of making it a hat-trick at Cheltenham cut from 4/6.

Grangeclare West, who opened as a 66/1 outsider, moved into 16/1 from 20/1 after the news was announced. Second-favourite Banbridge’s odds shortened from 7/1 to 9/2.

Cal Gildart of Ladbrokes said: “Galopin Des Champs was already the odds-on favourite for another trip to the winner’s circle at Cheltenham. With one of his closest contenders now out of the race, he looks primed to become only the fifth horse to win a third Gold Cup.”
