Cowboys to boost playoff hopes against Cutler-less Bears

Dallas (7-5) can give their playoff hopes a significant boost with a win against Chicago (6-6) in front of the Monday Night Football cameras at Soldier Field.
The Cowboys’ hopes were dealt a blow at the weekend with both the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers picking up wins but Jason Garrett’s side will be confident of securing victory in the mid-west.
Dallas head to Soldier Field on the back of two straight wins, and having won five of their last seven, while the Bears are looking to avoid a third consecutive loss.
Chicago forced five turnovers in a 16-point win in their last meeting against the Cowboys, but with QB Jay Cutler still missing they are unlikely to repeat the feat this time round.
The Illinois outfit have won just two of their last six outings but are faring slightly better at home, where they are 4-2 in six, making the hosts marginal favourites for the match at 20/21.
The Cowboys are 2-5 from their last seven games on the road and as such are slight outsiders at 20/23, but with the prices so close, despite that record, it shows that the Bears are in trouble.
This is perhaps a result of Chicago’s ongoing injury problems. As well as Cutler, the Bears will be without Henry Melton, DJ Williams, Charles Tillman and Nate Collins, while Brandon Marshall is now also questionable.
The wide receiver is struggling with a quad injury and is unlikely to feature, further boosting the visitors’ confidence.
The Bears are now ranked as 100/1 outsiders for the Super Bowl and while their hopes may have to wait for another year, the 40/1 price on the Cowboys going all the way for the first time since 1996 will surely shorten with a much-needed win in the Prairie State.
