Dan Skelton: Track and trip suit Allmankind at Aintree

Dan Skelton heads to Aintree races for the Old Roan meeting where he has six runners on the card
Aintree 2.25 – Captain Chaos
I would like to see a bit of rain for Captain Chaos, who would like good-to-soft ground. He is a good old boy, who won a listed race for us last year. He always takes a few runs to get going. He’s not as young as he once was and he normally builds up into the season and I don’t see why this time will be any different. He has done plenty of work and he is in a veteran’s race which is handy for him but I do believe that he will need the run to get going.
Aintree 3pm – Allmankind
The Old Roan has been his early season target. We got a run into him at Chepstow the other day over hurdles because that was the only option. He had to have that run to come here and stand any chance of winning. I have been very happy with him at home and the track and trip will suit him. There are lots of positives with him. He has top weight which is not easy but he has won a Grade 1. I think he will run really well, there is no reason to say otherwise.
Aintree 3.35 – Lakota Warrior
I am very happy with him and I think that he will benefit from his wind op this summer. He’s ultimately a chaser but he should go and run really well in this. He had a good first run last season, the second one wasn’t as good but he is a horse who needs plenty of time.
Aintree 4.10 – Riggs
He fell last time out, after being second in the EBF final. I think two-and-a-half miles is a good starting point, and he will be up to three miles pretty soon. He’s quite a lazy type of horse at home. We do plenty of work with him but I think he will improve a little bit for this run. He should be competitive nonetheless. It is a nice place to start him.
Aintree 4.45 – Sail Away
He is very much a chaser. I gave him one run over hurdles last year and I was disappointed with him but he’s done a few things differently. He’s had a wind op, he goes over fences, and we should see him in a totally different light.
Aintree 5.20 – Blue Suede Shoes
She is a very nice mare. She is quite precocious at home and I think she will run very well. Like all of our bumper horses, she’s not revved up but she’s done lots of nice work and shows plenty of talent at home. We don’t rev up any of our bumper horses, we are mindful they’re to be jumpers of the future.
