Dan Skelton Saturday runners blog: 'I'm looking forward to running her'

In his latest blog, leading trainer and Ladbrokes ambassador Dan Skelton gives his thoughts on his runners on Saturday at Ascot and Hereford.

We run Kateira in the Long Walk, where I think three miles is no problem - we saw that at Wetherby, where it looked like she was going to win before a bad mistake two out. This is obviously a very competitive race, as you would expect, but she gets the seven pound mare allowance, and I think she'll be bang up there. The ground has stayed decent for her as well; she needs good to soft - she's not effective on soft ground, so I'm really looking forward to running her. 

We run Flegmatik in the Silver cup - this is a very competitive race as well. I had this one in mind as an early season, before Christmas target for him, and he's doing well. The Handicapper is relenting a bit but I don't think he'll just pop in, or that he's a certainty by any stretch, but I do think he's got an each-way chance.

Then we run Be Aware in the Ladbrokes Hurdle. Obviously he had a great run in the Greatwood last month and I think he's stepped forward at home since then, so I'd like to think he'll go very close here. I'm very, happy with him all round. The form of the Greatwood race is pretty strong and there's not a lot not to like to be honest with you. I'm really looking forward to getting him out here.

Gwennie May Star runs in a Handicap Hurdle - he ran OK in a Novices' Hurdle, but I think the handicapper has him a little high - he should be better off on nice ground, so he's got an each-way chance here.

Sacre Coeur runs on the card, too, and she's in good form. She does carry a lot of weight but she's very consistent, so I'd definitely have to give her an each-way chance in this valuable mares chase.
