Wednesday 8th April: What Sport Is On?

| 07.04.2020

Sports fans can help themselves to a double-helping of Darts, Belarusian Cup Football, International Horse Racing and Supercar Esports on an action-packed Wednesday from around the globe.

Let’s run through it all with our What’s On guide…

Football

We kick things off with a double-helping of Belarusian Cup Football, where BATE Borisov will be hoping to build on their win at the weekend by justifying odds of 19/20 against Slavia Mozyr (5/2).

Dinamo Brest are 5/4 to defeat Shakhtar Soligorsk in the other cup tie, while there are also two games apiece from the Tajikistan Vyschaya Liga and the Nicaraguan Primera Division. The latter begins at 23:00.

Darts

You’ve probably been getting used to some unfamiliar faces from various sports over the last few weeks. But there are some household names back in action here as ‘Darts at Home’ returns for the second week at 19:30.

Premier League star Nathan Aspinall will take on Stephen Bunting, Jelle Klaasen and Steve Beaton in the round-robin format. There are six matches in total, with Aspinall our 10/11 favourite to finish as the overall winner.

Before that the Modus Icons of Darts League will move on to day three. The action is set to begin at 11:00 with Dutch youngster Wessel Nijman looking to carry forward his good form from Monday and Tuesday.

Horse Racing

The International action gets going from Australia and Japan in the early hours, with Oi once again bringing the morning action to a close at 12:50.

Tampa Bay Downs gets the US Racing underway with six contests from 17:30 before late evening renewals from Will Rogers Downs at 19:15 and Fonner Park at 22:00 see us through past midnight.

Golf

The Cactus Tour also soldiers on with another 54-hole event from Apache Creek in New Mexico which will tee-off at around 21:00 in the UK.

Sarah Burnham will go off as the 7/4 joint-favourite and comes into the event in good form having won at the Sundance Golf Club Tournament a fortnight ago.

She’ll face stiff competition from fellow favourite Sophie Popov, who will be hoping to go one better than her runner-up berth at the Sun City Country Club Tournament last week.

Esports

There’s still plenty going on in the world of Esports, too, with three match-ups from the Legends Pro League on Wednesday, including Suning (3/2) against Oh My God (1/2) in what looks to be the closest contest.

The ESL ESEA Pro League also features a hat-trick of clashes, with Mousesports (5/6) v Fnatic (5/6), FaZe Clan (6/5) v Natus Vincere (8/13) and Astralis (1/3) v OG (9/4) all available on our Sportsbook.

Elsewhere, the Supercars Esports series also begins on Wednesday, with current Supercars champion Scott McLaughlin the 5/2 favourite to triumph around the Virtual Phillip Island track at 09:00.
