Dutch Grand Prix betting tips and odds

The long-awaited return of the Dutch Grand Prix takes place on Sunday and hopefully it will be a better spectacle than the farcical scenes which marred last week’s race in Belgium.

Max Verstappen was declared the winner at the rain-soaked Spa-Francorchamps in which only two laps were completed behind a safety car.

Lewis Hamilton still leads the championship standings and is 13/10 second favourite to win this weekend so let’s get in top gear with our Dutch Grand Prix betting tips.

Verstappen was awarded 12.5 points in the shortest race in the sport’s 71-year history and is now just three behind Hamilton ahead of the 13th round of the championship which takes place in front of his home fans.

The Red Bull driver has won four of the last six races and is evens to win at the circuit in Zandvoort which was supposed to host its first grand prix in 35 years in 2020 only for the Covid pandemic to force it to be postponed.

This twisting 2.6-mile track bears similarities to the Hungaroring, Monaco and Suzuka, according to the official F1 website, and should favour the Red Bull star who is also evens to qualify on pole position, with Hamilton priced at 7/5 as one of the Dutch Grand Prix betting tips.

Verstappen has qualified fastest in five of his last six outings and having overcome some of the problems which affected his car at the British and Hungarian grands prix, it looks like the Dutchman will be the one to watch on Saturday and on race day.

In terms of the outsiders for a podium finish, George Russell could be in the mix again having finished second in Belgium on the back of an excellent qualifying session in the wet.

Rain could feature once again this weekend, so the 23-year-old Williams driver looks an interesting prospect at 12/1 to finish in the top three.

Lando Norris was absolutely flying until his Q3 crash in Belgium and it would not be a surprise to see him on the podium for a fourth time this season.

The McLaren driver is 10/3 to seal a top-three place as one of our Dutch Grand Prix betting tips.
