Erik ten Hag has been officially sacked as Manchester United first team manager after the Red Devils lost 2-1 to West Ham on October 27.
A slew of defeats against the likes of Tottenham, Liverpool and most recently West Ham has seen Man United 14th place after nine Premier League games, with one of England's most decorated sides below Fulham and Nottingham Forest in the table.
And now, less than 24 hours after the club's defeat to West Ham at the London Stadium, Man United have announced that Ten Hag is no longer manager.
Man United sack Erik ten Hag
In a club statement on the website, it was announced that Ten Hag has 'left his role' as Man United's men's first team manager in the morning of October 28.
The club's statement confirms that Ruud van Nistelrooy will take charge of the first team on a interim basis, with Ruben Amorim set to take over in the not too distant future.
Erik ten Hag has left his role as Manchester United men’s first-team manager. Erik was appointed in April 2022 and led the club to two domestic trophies, winning the Carabao Cup in 2023 and the FA Cup in 2024. We are grateful to Erik for everything he has done during his time with us and wish him well for the future. Ruud van Nistelrooy will take charge of the team as interim head coach, supported by the current coaching team, whilst a permanent head coach is recruited.

Man United's next manager
As for who the next manager is going to be, Ladbrokes had Ruben Amorim as the early favourite to be appointed on a permanent basis, and now that's been officially confirmed by the club.
Amorim will officially become the club's head coach on Monday, November 11, during the final international break of 2024, and fans are excited to see what he can do now he's at the helm.
Ladbrokes has already looked at how Man United could line-up under Amorim, with the likes of Marcus Rashford and Luke Shaw set to shine.
