Everton v Southampton: Everton can score at least twice

Published:

Everton have had more shots in the Premier League than any other club so far this season and there is every reason to believe that the floodgates will open against Southampton.

Southampton have already conceded 15 goals in their opening five fixtures, shipping at least two in four of these outings.

It is 4/7 that Everton manage over 1.5 goals and considering no other team has allowed more shots on target thus far in the top flight than the Saints, it is hard not to see this being achieved.

Everton put three past Swansea last time and if not for some controversial officiating, they should have netted four against Newcastle in their latest home game.

The fact that Nikola Jelavic played a half in the Capital One Cup defeat to Leeds is a big boost and he is likely to return to the starting line-up here.

Jelavic is 1/1 to find the target at any time in the 90 minutes and the 5/4 stands out that he strikes and Everton win the game.

Punters preferring to focus on match betting can back Everton at 4/9 to secure the three points.

For Southampton, attack has proved their best form of defence so far and they have already put two goals past both Manchester City and Manchester United in losing efforts.

It is 13/2 they follow up on their first success of the season over Aston Villa with another triumph and 16/5 they return south with a point.

Nigel Adkins’ men have already been involved in numerous high-scoring games this season and 8/13 is a solid price on over 2.5 goals being scored at Goodison.

Three of Southampton’s five games have crossed the 4.5 goal line and it is 7/2 that at least five goals are scored again here.
