So let's get to know them a little better. Without further do, here's a brief overview of every side at this summer's FIFA Club World Cup - including one interesting fact for every team.
Every team at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup
Al Hilal
Taking part in their fourth FIFA Club World Cup, Al Hilal are hoping to build on their promising appearance in 2022, where they lost 5-3 to Real Madrid in the final. With notable players such as Joao Cancelo, Aleksander Mitrovic and Ruben Neves - and ex-Inter boss Simone Inzaghi now at the helm - the 19-time Saudi Pro League champions have become a recognisable force in recent years, and have been an exciting team to watch in this year's tournament.

Al Ahly
This year's edition of the tournament is Al Ahly's 10th FIFA Club World Cup, with the Egyptian champions finishing third on four separate occasions - including as recently as 2023. Al Ahly were seen as the underdogs of Group A, and opened their campaign with a draw in the opening game against Inter Miami, but despite a thrilling 4-4 draw with Porto, they did finish bottom of Group A.

They booked their ticket to the United States with victory in the 2023/24 AFC Champions League final, and gave a good account of themselves as they took on a couple of European giants.

Atletico Madrid
The first of two Spanish giants to be gracing the Club World Cup stage, Atletico Madrid would have had their sights firmly set on lifting the trophy on July 13 - despite Champions League winners PSG being in the same group. Diego Simeone and his side know how to win trophies, but even with world class talent across the pitch, they failed to make it out of Group B.

Auckland City
With odds of 1000/1, Auckland City are the underdogs of this year's Club World Cup, but the 10-time NZ National Football League champions and current OFC Champions League holders will be up for the fight. Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich are rightly one of the favourites to go on and win this year's Club World Cup, with the German giants being one of 12 clubs to have won the prize in the past - doing so in both 2013 and 2020. With England captain Harry Kane picking up his first major trophy this season, defenders at the CWC will have to be at their best to maintain the supremely confident striker - with Kane among the favourites to finish as the tournament's top scorer.

That being said, Botafogo are the current holders of both the Brazilian title and the Copa Libertadores, and upset the odds to qualify for the round of 16 ahead of Atletico Madrid.

They do come into this tournament with some real CWC pedigree too, reaching the final in 2019 before losing to Liverpool after extra time.

Alongside Man City, Juventus face Al Ain and Wydad AC in Group G, and with the likes of Kenan Yildiz, Dusan Vlahovic and Randal Kolo Muani in their ranks, they can certainly cause problems for any defence they face.

Goalkeeper Ronwen Williams - one of our players to watch at this year's FIFA Club World Cup - was even nominated for the Yashin Trophy at the Ballon d'Or Awards last year, which goes a long way to explaining why. With odds of 500/1 before the tournament, they were never fancied, but they were certainly entertaining.

Exciting new signings will light up the tournament for Pep Guardiola's side, who begin life without Premier League icon Kevin De Bruyne, and it's no surprise to see them firmly among the front-runners to retain their title.

PSG don't need much of an introduction, especially after their historic Champions League triumph at the end of May, but they come into this tournament as the in-form team. Second-favourites behind Real Madrid, PSG have the Ballon d'Or favourite in Ousmane Dembele, one of the most exciting youngsters in the world in Desire Doue, and levels of confidence that most teams can only dream of.

Porto
Despite winning 30 Liga Portugal titles, Porto have only finished top of the league once in the last five years, with Sporting and Benfica taking advantage. Surprisingly, the 2025 edition of the Club World Cup will be their first appearance at the tournament, and while they weren't backed to go on and win it, it was perhaps a surprise to see them crash out of the groups.

RB Salzburg
After qualifying somewhat surprisingly for the inaugural expanded FIFA Club World Cup, RB Salzburg come to the states as the lowest ranked European side. A difficult group featuring Real Madrid and Al Hilal made progressing to the knockouts a difficult task, but young talents proved to be an exciting watch.
