Evra urges Arsenal star to join Man Utd to win trophies

Patrice Evra has encouraged fellow Frenchman Samir Nasri to join him at Manchester United next season if he wants to win some trophies from his time in English football.

Nasri joined Arsenal from Marseille in 2008 but is yet to claim any silverware in this time as the Gunners have fallen short in the Premier League, Champions League and the domestic cup competitions.

Evra does not see Arsenal ending their trophyless streak any time soon and believes that Manchester United offer Nasri the best chance of winning silverware in England.

He told L’Equipe: “Every year, you play to win trophies. That is the culture at Manchester United. You have the guarantee of winning something here.

“I have been at the club for five years now and I do not even remember how many trophies I have won; 13? 15?

“Little Prince [Nasri’s nickname], if you want to become the king, you know where you have to go.”

Nasri has decisions to make about his future as he only has one year remaining on his current Arsenal contract, with Manchester United just one club interesting in securing his signature.

Manchester United have already won the Premier League this season and are eyeing a magical double by beating Barcelona in the Champions League final.

It is 11/4 in the Champions League betting that Manchester United beat Barcelona inside the 90 minutes, while it is 13/8 that the Red Devils lift the trophy.

If Nasri does sign for Manchester United this summer, he will be joining the club that are the current favourites in the Premier League odds next season.

Manchester United are 13/8 to win the Premier League next season, with Arsenal priced at 7/1 after finishing fourth during the recent campaign.

A £30 stake on Arsenal winning the 2012 Premier League title would return £210. New customers can sign up here for a free £30 bet.
