Faroe Islands v Scotland betting tips and odds
Scotland’s thrilling win against Israel on Saturday has put them in pole position to secure a play-off spot to qualify for next year’s World Cup in Qatar but they still have work to do against Faroe Islands on Tuesday.
Steve Clarke’s side trailed twice at a sold-out Hampden Park, but Scott McTominay bundled in the winner in the sixth minute of stoppage time to secure a 3-2 victory and a four-point lead over third-placed Israel.
The Scots beat Tuesday’s opponents comfortably in Glasgow at the end of March and are 3/10 to win again so let’s see how they fare on the road in our Faroe Islands v Scotland betting tips.
Match Odds
A John McGinn double and goals from Che Adams and Ryan Fraser gave Scotland a 4-0 victory against Faroe Islands, whose four points have come from their two matches against bottom-of-the table Moldova.
Four of their five defeats have come without them scoring, so we make the visitors 20/23 to win with a clean sheet.
Faroe Islands were also behind at the break in four of their five losses, so we go 20/23 on Scotland HT/Scotland FT, with Clarke’s men 19/10 to win both halves bearing in mind that scenario occurred three times in the group phase, including the heavy beating at Hampden Park.

The Scots went ahead in the seventh minute in that game and can be backed at 10/3 to be leading inside a quarter of an hour considering the Faroes have been behind three times during that spell in qualification.
Scotland can also be backed at 19/4 to open the scoring inside the first 10 minutes again or 24/5 and 5/1 between 11-20 and 21-30 respectively.
In our specials the visitors are 13/8 to win either half, to score +1.5 goals and to keep a clean sheet which would have paid out in the last four meetings between these countries in our Faroe Islands v Scotland betting tips.
Talking Tactics
Clarke went with a 3-5-2 against Israel in which McTominay played on the right of a back three also comprising Jack Hendry and Kieran Tierney.
Che Adams played up front with Lyndon Dykes who atoned for having a poor penalty saved by scoring the second equaliser which was initially ruled out for a high foot, only for the decision to be reversed after the referee had checked the monitor.

Adams is out after picking up an injury against Israel so Kevin Nisbet could step in as his replacement.
Clarke made just one change to the side that had beaten Austria, with Nathan Patterson playing at right-wing-back, so with Scotland having won their last three games, changes are expected to be minimal.
Faroe Islands went with a 4-5-1 for Saturday’s 2-0 home defeat by Austria during which the hosts had just 33% possession, although three of their six shots were on target.
Goalscorer Odds
McGinn scored the opener against the Faroes and struck a fine equaliser on Saturday, so we go 9/2 on the Aston Villa midfielder breaking the deadlock or 9/5 on hitting the back of the net.
QPR forward Dykes has scored in the last three Scotland games and is 10/3 and 5/4 in the two markets, the same prices as strike partner Adams, who scored the third goal against the Faroes in spring.
McTominay is 4/1 to score in back-to-back games and 11/1 to draw first blood in our Faroe Islands v Scotland betting tips.
Joan Simun Edmundsson led the line for Faroe Islands against Austria and is 14/1 and 11/2 in both options, although Klaemint Olsen is the favourite for the hosts at 11/1 and 4/1.
