Arsenal v Norwich betting tips and odds

A surprising bottom-of-the-table clash between Arsenal and Norwich takes place at the Emirates on Saturday when both teams are looking to pick up their first points of the season.

While the Canaries were not expected to pick up too many points from their matches against Liverpool, champions Manchester City and Leicester, the Gunners would have fancied their chances of getting something from their game at Brentford.

Despite their poor start, Mikel Arteta’s men are 1/2 to win on Saturday as we examine the latest markets and odds for our Arsenal v Norwich betting tips.

Match Odds

Arsenal prop up the table with no points and no goals despite spending a reported £156million during the transfer window.

Both teams lost 5-0 to Manchester City, although Arsenal played 55 minutes with just 10 men following a straight red card for Granit Xhaka, so the symmetry of those scorelines suggest a draw can be backed at 16/5.

That said, the Gunners have developed a reputation for being flat-track bullies, struggling against elite teams but proving too good for the rest, and they can be backed at 8/5 to win to nil as they did in a 4-0 drubbing of City when Norwich were in the Premier League two seasons ago.

It’s been all change at Carrow Road with 12 senior players leaving the club, the highest profile being Emi Buendia’s move to Aston Villa.

But boss Daniel Farke has brought in a similar number, including the loan signings of Billy Gilmour, Brandon Williams and Ozan Kabak while Milot Rashica, Christos Tzolis and Pierre Lees-Melou joined the club amongst others.

Norwich scored their one and only goal from the penalty spot in the 2-1 defeat by Leicester before the break so, with neither team firing up front, under 2.5 goals at 11/10 is an option.

That said, Norwich will smell an opportunity against a team lacking confidence so an open game could be on the cards as we go 11/8 on both teams to score, over 2.5 goals in the match and either team to win as a #GetAPrice special.

A goal in both halves and the match to be drawn at 13/2 is also one of our Arsenal v Norwich betting tips.

Talking Tactics

Arteta went with a 4-2-3-1 against Brentford and Chelsea but played five at the back against City, although we expect the Spaniard to revert to the former system on Saturday.

Xhaka is suspended but Thomas Partey, Ben White and Gabriel Magalhaes are all back in training.

Kenny McLean is doubtful for Norwich having pulled out of Scotland’s win against Austria with an injury.

Goalscorer Odds

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang started his first game of the season against City but was replaced by Alexandre Lacazette after an hour and the strikers are 16/5 and 14/5 to break the deadlock.

Gabriel Martinelli started the first two games without success and is 9/2 to score the opener or 13/8 to find the net while Nicolas Pepe is 4/1 and 6/4 in the same markets.

Norwich striker Teemu Pukki is 6/1 to get the ball rolling and 11/5 to score and we go 18/1 and 6/1 on Lees-Melou with these options.
