Brentford v Everton betting tips and odds

Both teams made excellent starts to the Premier League season but the wheels have come off since then as we look at some Brentford v Everton betting tips for Sunday’s game.

The Bees were in seventh after a 2-1 win at West Ham at the start of October, but one point from a possible 15 means they are in the bottom half of the table.

The Toffees have taken just two points from their last six games to slip to 11th and are 12/5 underdogs to win in west London.

Match Odds

Although these sides are in the lower half of the table, expected goals data suggests they should both be in the top eight.

Thomas Frank’s side would be fifth had they taken their chances, so it’s perhaps not that surprising they are 6/5 favourites to beat an injury-ravaged side also missing Richarlison and Mason Holgate through suspension.

Brentford played out their second 3-3 draw of the season last weekend during which they led twice but had to settle for a point at Newcastle.

Another share of the spoils is priced at 11/5 and it’s 13/4 on a score draw, while a goal in both halves and the teams to pick up a point apiece is 11/2. A third 3-3 draw of the season for Brentford is 70/1.

Both teams have scored in seven of the Bees’ 12 games, an option which is available at 17/20, but the hosts have been boosted from 18/5 to 4/1 to win and concede in our Brentford v Everton betting tips.

Interestingly, Frank’s side have drawn the second half eight times this season, two more than the next highest, so neither team to win after the break is 7/5.

Talking Tactics

Rafael Benitez remains without Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Yerry Mina, Andre Gomes and Tom Davies, but on the plus side key midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure could be available having missed four games with a broken metatarsal.

Demarai Gray went off with a groin injury in the 3-0 defeat at Manchester City, but was back in light training on Thursday so the winger is touch and go.

Frank went with his usual 3-5-2 formation at St James’ Park where Ivan Toney and Bryan Mbeumo led the line.

Goalscorer Odds

With both of Everton’s first-choice strikers unavailable, Salomon Rondon is likely to be their main striker and is priced at 23/10 to break his duck or 11/2 to score the first goal.

Andros Townsend is without a goal in five appearances but is 9/1 to draw first blood or 4/1 to get on the scoresheet and Anthony Gordon is 8/1 and 10/3 in the equivalent markets.

Toney scored his third Premier League goal of the season at Newcastle and is 4/1 favourite to draw first blood or 15/8 in the anytime market, but Mbeumo is 11/2 and 12/5 in our Brentford v Everton betting tips.

Wing-back Rico Henry scored in back-to-back games against Norwich and the Magpies, and is 10/1 to make it a hat-trick or 25/1 to bag the game’s opening goal.
