Brighton v Everton preview and odds

Two unbeaten teams meet at the Amex Stadium on Saturday and we have analysed the odds to pick out some Brighton v Everton betting tips.

Brighton often performed better than results suggested last season but have been more clinical in wins against Burnley and Watford.

This looks their toughest test so far though as Everton look to continue a solid start to the Rafael Benitez era.

Match Odds

Brighton are sitting pretty in fourth place in the embryonic Premier League table with only goal difference keeping them off the summit.

Graham Potter’s men have made the most of a favourable run of early fixtures, coming from behind to win 2-1 at Burnley before a 2-0 victory at home to Watford.

That means the Seagulls have started a top-flight campaign with two wins for the first time in their history and a 2-0 EFL Cup win at Cardiff in midweek maintained the momentum.

A fourth win in all competitions can be backed at 7/5 in Brighton v Everton betting tips while another clean sheet is 17/10 but the visitors will provide a stern test.

There were fears among some Everton fans that Benitez would adopt a defensive approach after replacing Carlo Ancelotti but they have provided plenty of entertainment so far, beating Southampton 3-1 and then drawing 2-2 at Leeds.

The goals continued to flow as a weakened team triumphed 2-1 at Championship side Huddersfield on Tuesday so both teams to score is an option at 10/11.

Everton are 21/10 for victory on the south coast but have failed to win at the Amex Stadium in four visits.

They have managed two draws though, including a goalless stalemate in April, and the points to be shared is priced at 21/10 while another 0-0 draw is 7/1.

Talking Tactics

Brighton’s hopes will be boosted if Neal Maupay is declared fit. The Frenchman, who has scored in both games, suffered a shoulder injury against Watford and did not appear for the second half after landing awkwardly following a challenge with Oghenekaro Etebo.

He does not require surgery though and was described by Potter in midweek as having “an outside chance” of being fit for the weekend.

Brighton’s back three of Adam Webster, Lewis Dunk and Shane Duffy have impressed so far but will have their hands full as Everton look to supply service to Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Goalscorer Odds

Calvert-Lewin has scored in both of Everton’s Premier League matches so far and is 7/4 to extend that run while he is the 4/1 favourite to open the scoring.

Maupay also has two goals and, if fit, is Brighton’s most attacking threat. He can be included in Brighton v Everton betting tips to score anytime at 2/1 while Duffy is 15/2 to repeat the goal he scored against Watford and 18/1 for the opener.
