Burnley v Tottenham betting tips and odds

Antonio Conte heads to Burnley admitting he knows the task he faces as Tottenham manager is “not so simple” and that he has “problems to solve” after his side were humiliated in the Europa Conference League on Thursday night.

Spurs lost 2-1 at NS Mura, the lowest ranked team in the competition, to leave their hopes of qualifying for the knockout stage hanging by a thread.

The north Londoners are 21/20 favourites to win on Sunday as we examine some of the markets in our Burnley v Tottenham betting tips.

Match Odds

These sides have already met at Turf Moor this season, Lucas Moura heading in the only goal to send Tottenham into the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.

Spurs also won this fixture 1-0 last season, so they can be backed at 13/2 for a repeat of that scoreline or 13/5 for a win to nil, but the Clarets seem to have turned a corner despite still being in the relegation zone.

Burnley’s 3-3 draw with Crystal Palace last weekend extended their unbeaten run to four games which included taking a point at Premier League leaders Chelsea.

Sean Dyche’s side have now drawn five of their last seven matches, four of which produced goals at both ends which can be backed at 13/4, while a simple share of the spoils is 12/5 in our Burnley v Tottenham betting tips.

Burnley have started to look more adventurous with Maxwel Cornet in the side and the goals are certainly flowing at both ends of the pitch.

Both teams have scored in Burnley’s last four games which is available at 8/11, while at least four goals is 11/5, bearing in mind that would have paid out in three of their last four games.

The hosts certainly seem capable of beating out-of-sorts Spurs at 27/10, and we also go 13/8 on both teams to score, over 2.5 goals and either team to win,

Talking Tactics

Harry Kane played the whole game in Slovenia where Spurs were reduced to 10 men with the first-half dismissal of Ryan Sessegnon.

Conte brought on Son Heung-min, Lucas Moura, Eric Dier and Ben Davies 10 minutes into the second half which sparked Spurs into life, but despite Kane’s equaliser, NS Mura pinched the points in stoppage time.

Most of the players on the bench are likely to start in a 3-4-2-1 at Burnley, who will once more line up in a 4-4-2 formation in which Cornet is likely to accompany Chris Wood up front, with Dwight McNeil and Johann Berg Gudmundsson on the wings and Josh Brownhill and Ashley Westwood in the middle.

Goalscorer Odds

Kane may have been banging in the goals for England but he has scored just once in the Premier League, yet he remains the 14/5 favourite to break the deadlock or 11/10 to find the net any time.

Moura has scored in his last two appearances against the Lancastrians and is 15/2 to draw first blood and 14/5 to get past Burnley’s defence, with Son 7/2 and 7/5 in the two markets.

Wood is the 5/1 favourite from the Clarets contingent to grab the opener or 21/20 to score, but Cornet is 11/2 and 23/10 in the last of our Burnley v Tottenham betting tips.
