Can Inter Milan derail Juventus’ Serie A title charge?

Published:
Antonio Conte - Inter

The Juventus juggernaut has been stalling so far thisseason, and their rivals smell blood.

Lazio sit a point off the Old Lady in second place with a real shot at the title. And Inter Milan, under new boss Antonio Conte, are just six points adrift with a game in hand and they’re ready to pounce.

Juve are still the 1/2 favourites to retain the title but 4/1 shots Inter can get right back into contention with a win in the Derby D’Italia.

The Big Picture

The threat of coronavirus means the game at the JuventusStadium is to be played behind closed doors. But it should take nothing awayfrom the enormity of the occasion.

A Juventus win at 6/5 will put them a chunky nine points clear of Inter. But if Conte can mastermind an away win at 23/10 then I Nerazzuri will be just three adrift of their rivals.

A draw that would do neither side any good is 9/4. Thereverse fixture ended 2-1 in Juve’s favour and you can get a repeat of thatscore line at 15/2.

You could say it’s win or bust for the visitors.

Goal-getters

After Inter lost their last league game to Lazio, they’llneed their main men to step up in this one.

Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez have fired 36 goals between them this season and should start up top. Lukaku to score anytime is 13/8 with his strike partner 6/1 to break the deadlock. New arrival Christian Eriksen would be an instant hero if he scored the winner – he’s 10/1 to bag the final goal.

Juve will look to shake off their Champions League first-leg defeat to Lyon with a win. Cristiano Ronaldo thrives off an occasion like this and is 19/20 to score anytime – 22/1 for a headline-grabbing hat-trick!

Diminutive attacker Paulo Dybala is 11/5 to score, whileformer Arsenal man Aaron Ramsey, having already scored two FA Cups winners, is 9/2 to bag another big-game goal anytime.

What about Lazio?

While all eyes will be on the Allianz Stadium, Lazio can gotop with a win against Bologna on Saturday night.

Sitting second, they’re proving to be the team who can’t be moved and are just 11/4 to bag their first Scudetto since 2000.

Spearheaded by 29-goal frontman Ciro Immobile, IBiancocelesti are in with a serious their best title shout in decades.

Away trips to Atalanta and rivals Juventus could be wherethe title is won and lost, before a last day face off with improving Napoli.

But next is Bologna and they’re 13/8 to win to nil.

It’s all set up to be the most exciting finish to Serie Afor years…
