Rare Palace away win likely and is a good 7/2 bet

Crystal Palace may have by far the worst away record in the Championship, but history suggests that there is a strong possibility that they will leave Watford with the three points.

The Eagles have won just one and lost 11 of their 14 games on the road, scoring just ten goals in the process, which is also the fewest in the division.

However, they have won their last three showdowns with Watford and are 7/2 in the Championship betting odds to emerge triumphant again.

Watford have lost their last two games, including an FA Cup defeat at home to League One Brighton, but are 8/13 to bounce back with a win.

Portsmouth are another team to have struggled to avoid defeat on their travels and there is every chance that they will return home empty handed again after heading to leaders QPR next.

QPR’s betting odds are 8/15 to beat Portsmouth, which would at least retain their five-point lead at the head of the Championship standings.

A slight bright spot for Portsmouth is that all of their last three encounters with QPR have ended 1-1 and it is 11/2 that this is the result again.

Elsewhere, Nottingham Forest are in fine Championship form at present and will be hopeful of claiming a fifth win in a row when they travel to Coventry.

Nottingham Forest are 11/8 to beat Coventry and it is 7/1 that Forest win 1-0 for the fourth time in five games.

But the last four meetings between the pair have been won by the home team and it is 8/5 that Coventry witness success, which would keep alive their slim hopes of challenging for the play-off places.

A £25 stake on Crystal Palace beating Watford 2-1 would return £350. New customers can sign up here for a free £25 bet.
