Chelsea v Norwich betting tips and odds

Premier League leaders Chelsea host bottom-of-the-table Norwich looking light in attack after Wednesday’s Champions League win came at a cost with the loss of their two main strikers.

Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner both limped out of the 4-0 win against Malmo at Stamford Bridge and will miss the match against the Canaries.

Despite their problems, the Blues are 2/11 to beat City but we’re going to take a look at some of the other options for our Chelsea v Norwich betting tips.

Match Odds

Six wins and a draw have put Chelsea one point clear of Liverpool at the top of the table and having conceded just three goals in their eight games they also have the meanest defence, unlike Norwich who have been breached 16 times.

Only Newcastle have a leakier defence so the west Londoners to win to nil looks a possibility at 7/10, the same price as them to be leading at half-time and full-time.

Kai Havertz came on to replace Lukaku against the Swedes and scored the third goal, so the Germany international may start up front either on his own or with Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Chelsea are 13/10 to win both halves and can also be backed at 6/5 to be leading after half an hour as one of our Chelsea v Norwich betting tips, bearing in mind City have been trailing at the 30-minute mark five times this season.

We also go 6/5 on Chelsea to win either half, score at least twice and keep a clean sheet or 11/4 on the Blues winnings both halves, netting at least three goals and not conceding, although it may be best to err on the side of caution with Lukaku and Werner absent.

With that in mind, the hosts to win and under 3.5 goals as they have done in all but one of their six wins may be the way to go at 10/11 while the riskier 1-0 or 2-0 option is 11/5.

Talking Tactics

Thomas Tuchel had considered resting his internationals for the clash with Malmo and will be kicking himself he did not follow his instinct.

Lukaku and Werner are both out for several weeks with ankle and hamstring injuries respectively so Havertz and Hudson-Odoi are likely to fill in the gaps.

Norwich drew their last two matches 0-0 against Burnley and Brighton, so having kept back-to-back clean sheets boss Daniel Farke is likely to stick with a 5-3-2 formation.

Goalscorer Odds

Hudson-Odoi is 5/1 to break the deadlock or 7/4 to score, with Havertz 14/5 and 5/6 in the same markets, while Jorginho, who scored two penalties on Wednesday, is 4/1 and 7/5 in our Chelsea v Norwich betting tips.

Andreas Christensen became the latest Blues defender to get on the scoresheet when he opened the scoring against the Swedish champions and is 33/1 and 11/1 in the two options, with Ben Chilwell 12/1 and 4/1.

Norwich have scored just twice this season, with both goals coming from Teemu Pukki who is 7/2 to find the net.
