Euro 2022 betting tips: French fancied to dump Dutch in quarters

Euro 2022 betting tips from the quarter-finals

The last Women’s European Championship quarter-final takes place in Rotherham on Saturday night as France meet Netherlands, the defending champions.

Our Euro 2022 betting tips got off to a good start on Thursday when Alex Popp struck in the last minute in a 2-0 victory to give us a 2/1 winner on the Germany striker outscoring Austria. but now we turn our attention to Saturday’s game where the holders are the 10/3 underdogs to set up a clash with Germany.

France v Netherlands (Sat, 20.00)

One of the tastiest quarter-finals takes place at the New York Stadium where France are the 4/5 favourites to progress to the last four.

Grace Geyoro scored a hat-trick in France’s 5-1 win against Italy in their opening group game and Wendie Renard missed a penalty in a 2-1 victory over Belgium to seal their place in the last eight.

However, their 16-match winning run ended in a 1-1 draw with Iceland, who equalised from the spot in the 12th minute of stoppage time.

They have conceded in every match, though, so a French win and both teams to score at 11/5, which was the case in a 3-1 win against the Dutch at the Tournoi de France in February, is one of our Euro 2022 predictions.

Germany v Austria (Thu, 20.00)

Eight-time champions Germany are now second favourites at 3/1 to win the tournament having won all three group games without conceding just like the Lionesses.

They started their campaign with a 4-0 win against Denmark followed by a 2-0 victory against Spain which ensured they qualified as group winners and wrapped things up with a 3-0 victory over Finland.

Austria lost 1-0 to England in the opening game of the tournament, but 2-0 and 1-0 wins against Northern Ireland and Norway ensured they reached the quarter-finals as they did five years ago.

The Germans are 1/4 to go through inside 90 minutes at the Brentford Community Stadium, but the first of our Euro 2022 betting tips is for Alexandra Popp to outscore the opposition at 2/1.

The Wolfsburg striker has scored in each of Germany’s three group games and opened the scoring in a 3-1 friendly win against Austria four years ago.

Sweden v Belgium (Fri, 20.00)

Sweden advanced to the last eight as group winners with a crushing 5-0 victory over Portugal which ensured defending champions Netherlands took the runners-up spot.

The Scandinavians reached Euro 2022 with an unbeaten record (W7 D1) during which they conceded just twice and started the group stage with a 1-1 draw against the Dutch, dominating the first half only for the holders to hit back in the second half with a fine strike from Jill Roord from just inside the area.

Belgium haven’t looked up to much at Euro 2022, drawing their opener with Iceland, losing 2-1 to France and then eking out a 1-0 victory over Italy, who struck the bar in search of an equaliser.

Sweden have not lost inside 90 minutes in more than two years, but have conceded in four of their previous five games, so Peter Gerhardsson’s team to win and both teams to score at 19/10 is the next of our Euro 2022 betting tips.
