Euro 2024 qualifying tips: Tuesday’s matches
The group stage of Euro 2024 qualification concludes on Tuesday when Wales host Turkey hoping that Armenia can do them a favour by getting a result against Croatia.
Wales are 6/5 favourites to beat the already-qualified Turks and that match is one of four in our Euro 2024 qualifying tips which can be backed in an acca at 62/1.
Wales v Turkey
The Dragons’ struggles against Armenia have come back to haunt them as they host Turkey knowing only a win will give them a chance of making it to Germany next summer.
A 1-1 draw in Yerevan on Saturday meant Rob Page’s side took just one point from two games against a team ranked just inside the world’s top 100.
Wales trail Croatia by two points heading into their final qualifier against a Turkey side that beat Euro 2024 hosts Germany 3-2 in a friendly in Berlin at the weekend to make it three successive victories, and eight from their last 11 outings, so they are clearly in form.
Head coach Page already seems to have his sights on the play-offs, so we’re on board Turkey to beat Wales as they did in June at 21/10 as the first of Tuesday’s Euro 2024 qualifying tips.
Croatia v Armenia
The Croats will have been grateful to Armenia for taking a point off Wales, but they will not be in the mood for handing out favours when they face the former Soviet state.
Andrej Kramaric’s close-range finish before the 15-minute mark settled the outcome in the reverse fixture, although Croatia should have won more handsomely as their expected goals metric of 3.36 clearly shows.
With a place at Euro 2024 up for grabs, Croatia head coach Zlatko Dalic will not want to rely on another one-goal margin of victory, but his side only beat Latvia 2-0 in Riga last week.
All but one of their seven games have involved three goals or fewer, so the hosts to win that way at 10/11 is our next selection.
Greece v France
The 2018 world champions have already qualified as Group B winners with a perfect seven victories and their 14-0 drubbing of Gibraltar – a record in European Championship qualifying – means only Portugal have scored more than their 27, although Cristiano Ronaldo and co have played three games more.
France may have booked their spot in Germany, but Greece’s hopes of qualification rest on the play-offs in March after the Netherlands secured second spot with a 1-0 victory over Republic of Ireland.
Greece warmed up for the game with a 2-0 victory over New Zealand and although there is little riding on this game, we expect France to win and under 3.5 match goals at 23/20 just as they did in a narrow 1-0 win in the reverse fixture in Paris five months ago.
Didier Deschamps is expected to ring the changes for the game in Athens, so another low-scoring victory looks a possibility as the third leg of our acca.
Kosovo v Belarus
We wrap up Tuesday’s Euro 2024 qualifying tips in Pristina where both Kosovo and Belarus meet having been eliminated and with no hope of reaching the play-offs.
Kosovo are the draw specialists of qualification, with five of their nine matches ending all square., including a 1-1 draw in Switzerland, who also split the points in a 3-3 thriller with Belarus on home territory.
Aside from a 5-0 drubbing at home to Switzerland on matchday one, Belarus’ other eight games have either been drawn or decided by a one-goal margin, including a 2-1 victory over Kosovo, so a close encounter looks on the cards.
With that in mind, a draw and both teams to score at 4/1 concludes our Euro 2024 predictions.
