Liverpool v Everton betting tips: Reds can run riot in Merseyside derby
Liverpool v Everton betting tips and odds
Sunday’s Merseyside derby has added significance with Liverpool 7/4 to capture the Premier League title with six games remaining and Everton looking to avoid relegation.
The Reds went top of the table for 24 hours with a crushing victory over Manchester United, but Manchester City reclaimed their one-point lead with Wednesday’s 3-0 win against Brighton.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are just 1/5 to beat their rivals, so let’s look at some of the talking points in our Liverpool v Everton betting tips.
Liverpool v Everton form
Liverpool were sensational against Manchester United on Tuesday when Luis Diaz opened the scoring and assisted Sadio Mane’s goal, while Mo Salah ended his mini goal drought with a double in a 4-0 victory for what was an 11th successive home win in the Premier League.
Klopp played down the significance of the scoreline which meant Liverpool beat their arch rivals 9-0 on aggregate this season and maintained their unbeaten run at home (W13 D3).
The German said: “Nothing to moan about, we don’t take these things for granted. If our counter-pressing was not as sensational as it was tonight, I think United could have had a much better game.”

Relegation-threatened Everton recorded unbeaten back-to-back Premier League games for the first time since October with Wednesday’s draw against Leicester, although they left it until the second minute of stoppage time to rescue a point courtesy of striker Richarlison.

However, the Toffees have the worst away record in the Premier League, winning just once all season and losing 11 of their 15 games on the road.
That does not bode well for Sunday and we go 29/20 on the Premier League’s top scorers (83) to win by at least three goals or it’s 10/3 for a victory by at least four.
Liverpool v Everton head to head
Salah scored twice in a 4-1 victory at Goodison Park on the first day of December and a similar outcome looks on the cards considering how Liverpool cruised past arch rivals United.
The Reds are 19/5 to win by exactly three goals again or 13/2 for a four-goal margin of victory in our Liverpool v Everton betting tips.

Interestingly, the Blues have drawn against their neighbours at least once in the last four seasons, but we said a similar thing about Manchester United this week and we all know how that turned out.
Everton are 11/2 to draw and 14/1 to repeat last season’s 2-0 win at Anfield when Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson’s penalty stunned their rivals.
However, Everton’s previous Premier League win at Anfield came in the last century, so the signs are Liverpool are gearing up for another big victory against a team that could be in the bottom three by the time they meet.
Liverpool v Everton team news
Despite Liverpool’s high-pressing, energetic style of play they have just one injury concern, with Roberto Firmino missing the United game with a minor foot problem.

With most of his attackers available, Klopp must choose which three from Salah, Mane, Diaz and Diogo Jota lead the line.
Everton boss Frank Lampard welcomed back defender Yerry Mina from a thigh injury on Wednesday and Donny van de Beek was on the bench after a similar problem, so his options are improving.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is out for up to two weeks though with a quadriceps injury sustained in training, while Andros Townsend remains on the sidelines.
Diaz broke the deadlock on Tuesday and is 7/2 to repeat the trick in our Liverpool v Everton betting tips, the same price as Mane who was also on target during the week.
However, Salah is the 5/2 favourite to get the ball rolling and 4/6 to get on the scoresheet as he has in two of the last three Merseyside derbies. The Egyptian can also be backed at 7/5 to outscore the opposition.

Jota has been on the bench for the last couple of matches and is 16/5 to draw first blood or 6/5 in the anytime market.
Less obvious goalscorers include Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson who are 20/1 and 28/1 to bag the game’s first goal or 13/2 and 10/1 to find the net.
Richarlison is viewed as Everton’s best hope of scoring and is priced at 12/1 and 4/1 in the two options.
