Everton v Watford betting tips and odds

New Watford boss Claudio Ranieri is up against the blue half of Liverpool this weekend when he hopes for a better outcome than last Saturday’s clash with the Reds.

Ranieri’s debut with the Hornets ended in a chastening 5-0 defeat at Vicarage Road and they are understandably 9/2 underdogs to win.

The Toffees have mixed injury news ahead of the game at Goodison Park as we look at some of the odds in our Everton v Watford betting tips.

Match Odds

The news key Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure will be unable to face his former club with a fractured foot has been tempered by the potential return of Richarlison, who has missed the last four Premier League games with a knee problem.

The Merseysiders lost 1-0 at home to West Ham over the weekend which resulted in them dropping to eighth in the table but they are 4/6 to beat Watford on Saturday.

Everton had won their previous three home games in the Premier League by at least two goals and that option is available at 9/5 in the handicap.

That said, the Blues have won this fixture by a one-goal margin in three of the last four meetings and that outcome is available at 5/2 in our Everton v Watford betting tips.

Looking at the markets involving the first and second half, Everton are the third-best performers after the break and can be backed at 19/20 to win it for a sixth time this season.

Watford have also failed to score in their last two games and five overall – the second worst – so the hosts are 33/20 to win to nil.

Talking Tactics

Richarlison could return to the fold but may not be ready to start, so Salomon Rondon may get the nod once again in the absence of Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Rafael Benitez went with a 4-4-1-1 against the Hammers with Demarai Gray playing behind the Venezuelan and with Doucoure out of action, Tom Davies is likely to start in the heart of midfield.

Ranieri was without Josh King, Francisco Sierralta and Christian Kabasele for the defeat by Liverpool while Nicolas Nkoulou is set for another three weeks on the sidelines.

The Hornets lined up in a 5-4-1 against the Reds but could go with a 4-2-3-1 on Saturday with Ismaila Sarr leading the line.

Goalscorer Odds

Rondon has yet to score since joining the Toffees but is the 10/3 favourite to break the deadlock and 13/10 to find the net.

Gray and Andros Townsend have been in excellent form this season and are 5/1 and 7/1 to bag the opening goal or 21/10 and 11/4 in the anytime market in our Everton v Watford betting tips.

Sarr is the leading Watford player to draw first blood at 17/2 or 16/5 to find the net while Emmanuel Dennis is 11/1 and 4/1 in the two markets, the same odds as Cucho Hernandez.
