Footy acca tips for Saturday: Five to follow in 29/1 acca

Football acca tips for Saturday

The new season is well under way and we have five football acca tips from all four divisions in England on Saturday which can be combined at just under 29/1.

We have already previewed Newcastle v Man City and Man Utd v Liverpool later in the weekend but here are our best bets from Saturday’s 3pm fixtures.

Leicester v Southampton

When Leicester famously put nine goals past sorry Southampton in October 2019, few would have expected Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl to be in charge a week later.

Fast forward almost three years and the Austrian is still there but is again leading the sack race betting after a poor end to last season and another slow start this time.

Leicester won this game 4-1 in May and are unbeaten in the last five meetings in all competitions so the Foxes look a home banker for Saturday.

Swansea v Luton

The away end at Swansea was the place to be for midweek limbs as two own goals in stoppage time allowed Millwall to snatch a 2-2 draw.

Russell Martin’s Swans had dominated until then and will be determined to make amends here.

They will almost certainly dominate possession against a Luton team that are suffering the type of play-off hangover only a greasy fry-up and a can of full-fat Coke can solve.

The 2-0 defeat at 10-man Bristol City means the Hatters have only managed one goal in four games and boss Nathan Jones said: “We were outfought, outrun and outdone at all the things we are normally good at.”

Stick with the Swans as Jones goes back to his native Wales this weekend.

Exeter v Cheltenham

Exeter suffered the fewest home defeats in League Two last season on their way to promotion and St James Park looks set to be a fortress once more.

The Grecians have scored seven goals in two wins here against Port Vale (4-0) and Wycombe (3-1) and even their goalkeeper has turned into Lionel Messi…

The visitors are one of three teams in the division still without a win and lost their first three games before a goalless stalemate at Fleetwood in midweek so are easy to oppose.

Portsmouth v Bristol Rovers

There can be few less appealing jobs than being the fourth official at Fratton Park on Saturday as Danny Cowley and Joey Barton go head to head on the touchline but it is the Portsmouth boss who can claim the points.

Pompey have looked realistic promotion contenders having gone four matches unbeaten and their midweek 4-1 win against Cambridge was their best performance so far.

Rovers, in contrast, were thumped 3-0 at Barnsley where Barton admitted his team were “second best in every single department”.

Pompey can make it three wins in a row as the next of our football acca tips.

Barrow v Harrogate

In a battle between one town famous for submarines and another known for spas and tea rooms, there can surely only be one winner.

Added to that is Barrow’s impressive start under Pete Wild, with the Cumbrians winning three out of four despite a tricky run of fixtures.

Harrogate are doing pretty well themselves to be fair with seven points on the board but three of their first four opponents are in the bottom six at this early stage and a Barrow win at 13/10 looks good value to complete our football acca tips today.
