Fulham v Newcastle betting tips: Injury worries for Bruce

Published:

Fulham’s final Premier League fixture of the season before they return to the Championship again comes against a team that has finished the campaign on a high with four wins from their last seven matches.

The Magpies’ latest win came against Sheffield United during the week and they are priced at 23/10 to beat Fulham on Sunday afternoon.

For those of you looking for Fulham v Newcastle betting tips, we have studied some of the odds for the game at Craven Cottage.

Match Odds

Fulham were level on points with fourth-from-bottom Brighton when they beat Liverpool at Anfield in early March but their bid for survival floundered on the back of seven defeats and two draws in the subsequent nine games.

The Cottagers’ relegation was confirmed in a 2-0 defeat by Burnley which was their fifth successive home loss during which they scored just once.

The Magpies are 6/1 to win to nil or 18/5 to win and over 2.5 goals which has been the case in three of their last four wins.

There have also been at least five goals in three of Newcastle’s last six games which is available at 18/5 but only one of Fulham’s Premier League home games this season have hit that mark, a 3-2 defeat by Everton.

These teams drew 1-1 at St James’ Park and another share of the spoil is 13/5, with goals at both ends priced at 16/5 and the same scoreline 6/1.

In the half-time market, Fulham have drawn the first 45 minutes at home in 50% of their games, the same stats for Newcastle on the road, so we go 6/5 on the teams being level at the break.

Talking Tactics

Scott Parker made four changes for the 1-1 draw at Manchester United and there could be at least one for Sunday’s finale with midfielder Harrison Reed being forced off with an injury at Old Trafford, so Joachim Andersen could be restored to the starting line-up.

Opposite number Steve Bruce has injury concerns surrounding scoring sensation Joe Willock, Martin Dubravka, Allan Saint-Maximin and Joelinton, so changes could also be made to the Magpies’ starting XI.

Goalscorer Odds

Should Willock be fit, the on-loan Arsenal attacker will try to emulate Alan Shearer’s record of scoring in seven consecutive Premier League games and is priced at 7/1 to break the deadlock, as he did in two of those matches, or 5/2 to get on the scoresheet.

Joelinton has struck in three of his last eight appearances and is 6/1 to score the game’s first goal and 11/5 in the anytime market while Emil Krafth is 50/1 to bag the opener, as he did against Manchester City, or 20/1 to find the net.

For Fulham, Aleksandar Mitrovic is the 9/2 favourite to get the ball rolling while Bobby Decordova-Reid, the club’s top scorer with five, is 7/4 to score.
