Gareth Bale transfer odds: Cardiff shock favourites to land Wales star
Gareth Bale transfer odds and potential clubs
Gareth Bale has returned to Real Madrid after a successful loan spell with Tottenham and a decent showing at Euro 2020 where he helped Wales reach the knockout stage.
Bale, 10/1 to return to Tottenham, was allowed to leave the Bernabeu by head coach Zinedine Zidane who has since left the club and been replaced by Carlo Ancelotti, whose reappointment has led to speculation the Wales star will see out the remaining year of his contract in Spain.
We’re taking a look at the Gareth Bale transfer odds and potential destinations should he decide to leave Real Madrid.
A middling Championship club does not immediately spring to mind as the next stop for one of Wales’ greatest exports but the rumour Bale is heading to Cardiff is showing no sign of abating.
Bale revealed in March that he supports the Bluebirds and claimed they are a bigger club than Swansea because they have won the FA Cup.

That led to speculation over the summer Bale could up sticks and move back to the city of his birth.
At 32, Bale is reaching the end of his glittering career and it would not be that big a shock should he sign for City bearing in mind his ‘Wales. Golf. Madrid. In that order’ flag which found its way onto the pitch when the players had just qualified for Euro 2020.
Cardiff will need to work fast if they are to pull off what would be a major coup and the salary could be a problem but they are still the 6/4 favourites in the Gareth Bale transfer odds.
LA Galaxy/Inter Miami
Los Angeles were linked with a move for Bale in June amid reports the MLS club had opened talks about a potential switch to California.
However, Los Angeles do not have a Designated Player place available for Bale to fill with Javier Hernandez and Jonathan dos Santos occupying those spots.
A year ago Bale was linked with a move to new franchise Inter Miami – co-owned by David Beckham – who finished 10th in the Eastern Conference in their debut season.
Nothing materialised at the time but the rumours have not gone away and both MLS clubs are 5/1 in the Gareth Bale transfer odds.
United are 11/2 in the Gareth Bale transfer odds but with Jadon Sancho close to completing a blockbuster move from Borussia Dortmund the chances of a switch to Old Trafford are possibly diminishing.
Bale went close to joining United when David Moyes was in charge but the attacker decided to join Real Madrid instead.
The Premier League champions are next in line at 6/1 but with Tottenham striker Harry Kane reportedly in their sights they have bigger fish to fry.
Bale scored 16 goals in all competitions during his season-long loan at Tottenham but said he always planned to return to Real Madrid once the deal had expired.
Should Spurs chairman Daniel Levy decide to sell Kane, that could open the door for a potential return for Bale although even that would depend on whether Ancelotti would want him to leave the Bernabeu.
Levy recently revealed Tottenham had lost £200million owing to the Covid pandemic, money that could not be recovered, so that suggests Kane is available at the right price which could open the door for Bale’s return which is priced at 10/1.
