Rijeka v Hibernian betting tips and odds

Hibernian, like Aberdeen, have made a perfect start in the Scottish Premiership, but their Europa Conference League hopes are hanging in the balance following a 1-1 draw with Rijeka in the first leg at Easter Road.

Hibs needed a close-range finish from Martin Boyle to ensure the sides are level heading to Croatia where the Edinburgh outfit are 12/5 to win.

We have already previewed Aberdeen’s third-round qualifier with Breidablik, but now it’s the turn of their Premiership rivals in our Rijeka v Hibernian betting tips.

Match Odds

The first leg was an end-to-end encounter so, despite finishing 1-1, over 2.5 goals could pay dividends at 10/11 or 9/4 on +3.5 with both teams still in with a good chance of reaching the play-off round.

Another draw is available at 11/5 and goals at both ends with that outcome is 13/4, but Rijeka had a free weekend after their clash with HT Prva was postponed so should be fresher when they face Jack Ross’ side.

The Croats are unbeaten after the first three games in their domestic league, winning the first two matches 2-0 and sharing a thrilling 3-3 draw with champions Dinamo Zagreb on the first day of August.

A home win and both teams to score can be backed at 3/1 or it’s 11/5 on a victory and over 2.5 match goals as one of our Rijeka v Hibernian betting tips.

Boyle has scored five goals in as many games at the start of the season, including the crucial equaliser against Rijeka, and is available to score in a Hibs victory at 9/2 or 10/1 in a defeat.

Both teams to score in the second half, just like the first leg, is available at 2/1.

Talking Tactics

Ross made two changes for Saturday’s 3-0 win against Ross County with Josh Doig and Christian Doidge in the starting line-up.

Scotland striker Kevin Nisbet missed the game with a dead leg sustained last week, but he could return.

Rijeka played with wing-backs in a 3-5-2 or 5-3-2 formation against Dinamo Zagreb, with Issah Abass playing up front with on-loan Norwich striker Josip Drmic.

Goalscorer Odds

Nisbet is the 5/1 favourite to open the scoring for Hibs, but with doubts surrounding his participation, Doidge is next in the betting at 11/2 or 11/5 to score as he did at the weekend.

Boyle cannot stop scoring at the moment and we go 13/2 and 5/2 in the equivalent markets, while Lewis Stevenson, who hit the post last week, can be backed at 25/1 just to score as one of our Rijeka v Hibernian betting tips.

Drmic is the overall 7/2 favourite to break the deadlock and 6/4 to find the net, while Prince Ampem, who opened the scoring last week, is 6/1 to repeat the trick or 5/2 to breach Hibs’ defence.

Abass bagged a double against Dinamo Zagreb and is 11/5 to get on the scoresheet once again or 11/2 to get the game’s first goal.
