Inter Milan v Liverpool betting tips and odds
Liverpool take on Inter Milan holding a 2-0 lead from the first leg of their Champions League round-of-16 tie ahead of the return game at Anfield.
The Reds are 4/7 favourites to win Tuesday’s match against the Serie A champions who are 19/4 to come out on top in the second leg.
The Italians ended a four-match winless streak on Friday night, so let’s examine the form and the odds to help with our Liverpool v Inter Milan betting tips.
Liverpool v Inter Milan form
Jurgen Klopp’s side are the only team to have won all seven of their Champions League games this season which is no mean feat considering they beat both Atletico Madrid and Serie A leaders AC Milan home and away in addition to their win at Inter.
Their superb form means they are 7/2 second favourites in the Champions League winner odds behind 9/4 Manchester City.
The Merseysiders were not at their fluent best on Saturday night when Sadio Mane’s close-range finish following a VAR review proved enough to beat West Ham who had several chances to score, most notably Pablo Fornals who beat the offside trap but his lob over keeper Alisson lacked weight and was cleared off the line by Trent Alexander-Arnold.
That was Liverpool’s 12th successive victory, seven of which have come in the Premier League, a run which means they remain six points adrift of champions Manchester City with a game in hand.

Five of those victories came without conceding and Klopp was full of praise for his defence following the win against the Hammers, saying last-ditch tackles made by Andy Robertson and Naby Keita “were like scoring a goal”.
The game also marked Virgil van Dijk setting a record of 60 Premier League matches unbeaten at home, so Inter have it all to do to breach this defence.

Liverpool are 9/5 to win to nil again for a seventh game in nine in all competitions or 16/5 to be level at the break and win the second half as they did at the San Siro in both matches against the Milan clubs and in their last three Champions League games.
Mo Salah has been in sensational form in the Champions League and we have lots of markets on the Egyptian for Tuesday’s game.
Salah has scored 10 goals in his last 12 appearances in this competition and can be backed at 7/1 to find the net and provide an assist and is the same price to score in both halves.

Inter warmed up for the game with a 5-0 victory over bottom-of-the-table Salernitana in which Lautaro Martinez scored a hat-trick and Edin Dzeko a double to help the Nerazzuri move up to second place in Serie A, two points behind rivals Milan but with a game in hand.
Interestingly, Liverpool failed to beat Italian teams at home in the last two seasons, losing 2-0 against Atalanta having won the reverse fixture 5-0, and two years ago they drew 1-1 with Napoli.
The Italians are 16/5 to draw or 29/20 in the double chance market in our Liverpool v Inter Milan betting tips.
Liverpool v Inter Milan head to head
Liverpool have won the last three matches against Inter without conceding, all of which were goalless at the break which can be backed at 21/10, while a first-half draw is 5/4.

Both teams to score is available at 4/6, but bearing in mind Inter failed to find the net against Liverpool in the last three meetings it may be worth considering the ‘no’ option at 11/10.
Key Battles
The first leg was a scrappy affair after which Klopp said: “It’s half-time, nothing else. It will be a tricky one and we have to be ready for that.”
Liverpool’s defence came under scrutiny in the first leg, but they kept Martinez quiet and the Argentinian was replaced by former Arsenal and Manchester United attacker Alexis Sanchez with 20 minutes remaining.

Martinez is almost certain to start, possibly alongside Dzeko up front, although either Sanchez or Joaquin Correa are challenging the former Roma and Manchester City striker.
Inter will line up in their usual 3-5-2 with Stefan de Vrij, Alessandro Bastoni and Milan Skriniar playing at the back, while Liverpool will be in a 4-3-3 with Salah, Mane and either Luis Diaz or Diogo Jota operating up front.
Liverpool v Inter Milan team news
Klopp has almost a fully-fit squad available with Thiago Alcantara, Joel Matip and Roberto Firmino all returning to training.
Roberto Firmino, Thiago Alcantara and Joel Matip have returned to full training, Jürgen Klopp confirmed today.
— Liverpool FC (@LFC) March 7, 2022
Firmino is the only player of those three rated doubtful for the game, according to Klopp who said: “Bobby will be fine but we have to see, he was out a longer time, so we have to stress that he might need something else.”
Inter head coach Simeone Inzaghi remains without key player Nicola Barella through suspension, so Arturo Vidal is likely to be brought back into the side in the heart of midfield.
Goalscorer Odds
As one of our Liverpool v Inter Milan betting tips, Salah is predictably the 3/1 favourite to break the deadlock and just 19/20 to get on the scoresheet as he did in all three games against the Milan teams this season.
Mane scored the only goal of the game at the weekend and is 5/1 or 17/10 in the two markets, although he has only struck twice in the Champions League this season.
Diaz and Joto are 5/1 and 4/1 respectively to get the ball rolling or 7/4 and 7/5 in the anytime goalscorer market, while Van Dijk has scored twice since the turn of the year and is 6/1 to find the net again.
Martinez and Dzeko are both 7/1 to grab the game’s first goal and 5/2 to score, while Ivan Perisic is 11/1 and 7/2 in the two options.
