Ladbrokes punter lands more than £150,000 from 60p stake

| 02.05.2022

Two Premier League teams came from behind in dramatic fashion to turn 60p into a whopping £157,865.59 on Saturday afternoon for one plucky Ladbrokes punter.

The customer correctly predicted ALL 16 results on Saturday in the Premier League and Championship at odds of over 263,109/1, and while the majority came in with relative ease, late comebacks were needed in two 3pm top-flight games.

Burnley were one of the sides backed at 17/10 to beat Watford, and it looked set to be a loser after the relegation-threatened side went 1-0 down at Vicarage Road inside eight minutes, but late efforts from Jack Cork and Josh Brownhill ensured the bet was still alive.

Zaha to the rescue

However, the punter would have no doubt had one eye on events at St Mary’s, where Southampton and Crystal Palace looked to be playing out a 1-1 draw. Up stepped Wilfried Zaha in the 92nd minute to change all of that, bagging a late winner for the 2/1 visitors – meaning the customer just needed Manchester City to beat Leeds at Elland Road at 5:30pm to ensure the monster acca landed – which they did in emphatic fashion, winning 4-0.

Alex Apati, of Ladbrokes, said: “Our punter has played an absolute blinder here, correctly predicting the outcome of all 16 games in the top two tiers of English football on Saturday – and we’ve no doubt some of their winnings will be spent on a Wilfried Zaha shirt after the Palace man’s dramatic winner kept the bet alive!”

He added: “What makes the acca even more impressive is that there was just one draw across all sixteen games, and our customer managed to pick it out; truly remarkable stuff and we’re delighted for them.”
