League Cup betting tips and odds

Elite Premier League teams enter the Carabao Cup fray this week as all 16 third-round ties take place over two days.

We have picked out two matches from each of the games on Tuesday and Wednesday, including the clash between Chelsea and Aston Villa who met recently in the Premier League.

The Blues are 4/9 favourites to reach the fourth round so let’s take a look at some of the markets and odds in our League Cup betting tips.

Chelsea v Aston Villa (Wed, 7.45pm)

Chelsea joined Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table with Sunday’s 3-0 win at London rivals Tottenham which was the scoreline when these two teams clashed recently.

Thomas Tuchel has a deep and talented squad to call upon so they are 13/10 to win to nil or 8/1 for another 3-0 victory.

Villa hit Everton with a second-half blitz in a 3-0 win at the weekend and were unlucky not to score at Stamford Bridge where they can be backed at 12/5 to score the first goal or Chelsea are 21/10 to win and concede.

Wolves v Tottenham (Wed, 7.45pm)

Nuno Espirito Santo gets another crack at his former club Wolves in the Carabao Cup having beaten them 1-0 in the Premier League, but he has problems up front with Steven Bergwijn and Lucas Moura likely to be out once again.

Son Heng-min overcame a calf injury to take his place up front with Harry Kane in Sunday’s chastening 3-0 defeat by Chelsea a day after Wolves lost 2-0 at home to newcomers Brentford.

Both teams are likely to make big changes for Wednesday’s tie and Spurs are 2/1 to win once again and 15/4 without conceding, bearing in mind Wolves have yet to score at Molineux in three games this season.

At least one team not to score, which has been the case in all six of Wolves’ games, is 5/6 as one of our League Cup betting tips.

Fulham v Leeds (Tue, 7.45pm)

Fulham get a stark reminder of what they are missing on Tuesday as they host Leeds, who completed the double against the Cottagers in the Premier League last season.

United conceded on both occasions and are available at 7/2 to win by that method or 31/20 for a victory inside 90 minutes, but Leeds were eliminated in penalty shoot-outs by League One side Hull and Championship club Stoke in the past two seasons.

Fulham are 23/10 to draw and 3/1 to be level with goals at both ends at the end of 90 minutes, while they can be backed at 17/10 to beat a Leeds team that were surprisingly strong for the 3-0 win against Crewe in the second round.

QPR v Everton (Tue, 7.45pm)

Everton were without Richarlison, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Jordan Pickford for Saturday’s 3-0 defeat at Aston Villa and they are 16/5 to lose inside 90 minutes at Loftus Road on Tuesday night.

QPR are proving to be one of the most entertaining teams in the Championship having recently fought back from 3-1 down to draw 3-3 at Reading although they lost their last two games 2-1 to Bournemouth and Bristol City.

The Toffees are 11/5 to win and concede or 11/10 for a victory and over 1.5 goals as one of our League Cup betting tips.
