Tyrone Mings, Kalvin Phillips and James Ward-Prowse are the three players most likely to benefit from the European Championship squads being increased to 26, according to our odds.

Having all previously been outsiders to make Gareth Southgate’s 23-man squad, the bookies make Mings (8/13), Kalvin Phillips (1/6) and James Ward-Prowse (1/2) all odds-on to make the squad.

Elsewhere, as far as notable omissions go, the odds suggest versatile Arsenal star Bukayo Saka (8/11) will miss out in favour of Conor Coady (4/6).

The European Championship squads have been increased from 23 to 26 due to the demands on players during the pandemic.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: ‘Southgate now has a chance to add more strength in depth to his England squad for the European Championships, and the latest odds suggest he’ll take an extra centre-half along with two more midfielders.’
