Arsenal v Palace betting tips and odds

Arsenal get the chance to move back into the top half of the table with Monday’s match against Crystal Palace, playing in their fifth London derby of the season, as they welcome  legend Patrick Vieira back to the club.

The Gunners are 8/13 favourites to beat a team that have proved tough opponents in the last few years.

The Eagles have made an encouraging start to the season despite having won just one of their seven games, so let’s look at the markets and odds in our Arsenal v Palace betting tips.

Match Odds

Palace have drawn four times this season and four of the last six matches against Arsenal have ended all square so we go 14/5 on a point apiece on Monday night.

Three of their last five games this term have ended in score draws and that was the case in three of the last four share-alls with Arsenal as we go 4/1 on that outcome.

These two teams have also produced some exciting encounters in the last four years in which seven of the last eight games have involved goals at both ends, which can be backed at 20/23, while both teams to score and over 2.5 goals is available at 29/20 in our Arsenal v Palace betting tips.

Monday’s game looks a lot closer than the odds suggest and it would not be a massive surprise if the visitors won at 9/2 bearing in mind how listless Arsenal were in a goalless draw with Brighton last time out.

Both teams to score, over 2.5 goals and either team to win is priced at 7/4 but Mikel Arteta’s side have conceded just once in four outings and are 6/5 to keep another clean sheet or 33/20 to win to nil.

Palace have lost the first half in all three away games this season, two of which were at Chelsea and Liverpool, so we go 5/4 on the Gunners winning the opening 45 minutes or Arsenal HT/Draw FT is available at 16/1.

Talking Tactics

Arsenal lined up in a 4-2-3-1 at the Amex Stadium where Albert Sambi Lokonga played in a holding midfield role alongside Thomas Partey in the absence of long-term casualty Granit Xhaka.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who scored in Gabon’s World Cup qualifying win against Angola on Monday, is expected to lead the line with Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe playing behind.

Palace fought back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Leicester last time out and Vieira is likely to stick with a 4-3-3 formation with Odsonne Edouard spearheading the attack alongside Wilfried Zaha and Jordan Ayew.

Goalscorer Odds

Aubameyang is the 14/5 favourite to get the ball rolling or evens to score any time as he has done in his last two home games.

Saka and Smith Rowe are 13/2 to bag the opening goal or 5/2 to find the net while Zaha is the 15/2 favourite from the Palace contingent to draw first blood in our Arsenal v Palace betting tips.

Edouard is 8/1 and 3/1 in the two markets while Michael Olise, who scored as a sub against Leicester, is 5/1 to repeat the trick on Monday.
