Defending champions Portugal got off to a dream start on Tuesday with a Cristiano Ronaldo-inspired 3-0 victory against Hungary but Germany were beaten 1-0 by tournament favourites France courtesy of a Mats Hummels own goal.
Germany will have home advantage on Saturday and are viewed as the 5/4 favourites to get their first win of the group stage despite only beating one elite team in four years – the Netherlands during Euro 2020 qualifying.
Should England finish runners-up, they will play the team that finishes second in Group F and will be taking a keen interest in this match, so let’s look at the markets and pick out some Portugal v Germany betting tips.

Ronaldo was the star of the show once more as he became the European Championship’s highest scorer with 11 goals after his double finally ended the resistance of a determined Hungary team.
This will be the fifth meeting between the nations in the last eight major championships and Germany have won the last four but Portugal’s victory in Budapest has given them renewed hope of ending that run and we make the holders 9/4 to win on Saturday.
Joachim Low’s side have had a troubled seven months, losing 6-0 to Spain in a Nations League game and a 2-1 home defeat by North Macedonia in a World Cup qualifier followed in March.

Low played a 3-4-2-1 against France while Fernando Santos started with six of his Euro 2016 winners in a 4-2-3-1 formation in which Ronaldo started up top with Bernardo Silva and Diogo Jota either side of Bruno Fernandes in midfield.
Portugal struggled to break down a dogged Hungary side and it took three goals in the final six minutes to get the job done in front of a capacity crowd.
Goalscorer Odds
Ronaldo missed a sitter at the end of the first half before he finally got on the scoresheet from the penalty spot and is the 16/5 favourite to break the deadlock or 13/10 to find the net.
Jota looked much livelier, twice testing former Liverpool keeper Peter Gulacsi, and he is 15/2 and 7/2 in the same markets.
Gulacsi also kept out a swerving effort from Fernandes, who is 11/1 and 5/1 in the first goalscorer and anytime odds.
