Premier League goalscorer betting tips: Kane can get ahead in Golden Boot race

Harry Kane, Tottenham, Harry Kane Boxing Day goals

The season is drawing to a close and with European places still up for grabs, goals have never been so important.

There is also the small matter of winning the Golden Boot currently led by Harry Kane who is evens to finish as the Premier League’s top scorer, with Mohamed Salah the new favourite at 8/11 following his goal against Manchester United.

We’ve picked out three players that could be on the scoresheet this weekend for your Premier League goalscorer betting tips.

Harry Kane: Tottenham v Wolves

Kane and Salah lead the Premier League scoring charts with 21 goals although many think the Spurs striker should be on 22 after he was given the most marginal of offside decisions in last week’s 3-1 defeat at Leeds.

The England skipper has scored four goals in his last five Premier League outings and is evens to bag another or 11/4 to get the first goal against Wolves.

Kane has not scored in his last two appearances against the midlanders but he struck home and away in the 2018-19 season, opening the scoring in the home game, and he is priced at 11/4 to repeat that feat.

Chris Wood: Burnley v Leeds

Chris Wood has finished the season with a flourish, scoring eight goals in as many games to steer Burnley towards Premier League safety.

On Saturday, the New Zealand striker goes head to head with his former club Leeds and is the 3/1 favourite to break the deadlock just as he has done in four of his last eight appearances.

Wood is available at evens to get on the scoresheet, 9/2 to bag a double or 25/1 for a hat-trick which he managed at Wolves last month.

Christian Benteke: Crystal Palace v Aston Villa

Palace may have lost four of their last five games but Christian Benteke is on fire with six goals in his last 12 appearances.

The Belgium striker burst out of the blocks in his last two matches against Sheffield United and Southampton when he opened the scoring in the second minute on both occasions.

Benteke is 5/1 to draw first blood for a third successive game and 2/1 to crack an Aston Villa defence which has kept 15 clean sheets this season.

That said, they were in action against Everton on Thursday night and Benteke could catch them cold.
