Rafa Benitez 7/2 to be first Prem manager to leave – 8/1 Conte goes first
Published:
Rafa Benitez is favourite for this year’s Premier League sack race, according to the latest odds.
We’ve chalked up the Newcastle United boss at 7/2 to be given the heave-ho first this season, with Stoke City’s Mark Hughes at 11/2.
Slaven Bilic is 6/1 to be gone before anyone else, ahead of the real surprise in the betting – Antonio Conte.
Amid continued reports that the Chelsea boss is at ends with the Stamford Bridge board, it’s just 8/1 the Italian is the first to go, despite landing the title last year.
All of Conte’s rivals – Jurgen Klopp, Mauricio Pochettino, Arsene Wenger, Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola – look safe in their posts at 33/1 or bigger.
A Ladbrokes spokesperson said: “The new Premier League season hasn’t even started but already it doesn’t look great for Rafa at Newcastle.”
“Antonio Conte may have guided Chelsea to the title last season, but he’s ominously high up the betting when it comes to the sack race.”
